Following in Western Digital's footprints, storage solutions provider Seagate has announced its latest customer-care offering for its Indian clientele called 'at-your-doorstep'.

To get started, customers need to call the toll-free SeaCare Centers (1800 425 4535 from BSNL/MTNL lines; 044-42015212 from other lines) and provide details of their Seagate products and addresses. Customers are then given call-IDs, which should be written on the top of the packed products, ready for the pickup service. Replacement drives are delivered in the same way.

It is really good news. One of my friend got his WD (HD suffered from bad sectors) replacement within 5 days with home pickup and delivery.

Err, i got a mail from delta peripherals reporting the same earlier in october, thought you guys knew already :ashamed:
 
My friend just had a nightmare with his Seagate going kaput twice on him. Had this news reached a bit earlier it would have been useful to him. But good to know they atleast followed WD's suit. Thanks for the news. Now only hope that Hitachi does the same thing. AFAIK Lammy trip sucks. :@
