Doubts about PS3?

Hi,

Just got a PS3 (The God of war bundle ) and got the jail break too:clap:...

Thanks to the help from Soumalidon , Sourcewop and Dinjo I was able to setup my PS3 with my Samsung 2233SW....

Right now using a HDMI to DVI cable for video and a Female to RCA Jack for the audio,,using head phones right now as I live in a PG and dont have speakers:ashamed:,,ya the sound is a bit low but can manage :)

I had some doubt in the settings of the PS3 as this is my first console....

1) What is the setting the PS3 upscaler and the PS3 smoothing guess I should leave it ON but not sure though...Does the upscaler display the games in the 1920 X 1080 resolution though the game is 1280 X 720 ?

2) I have completely filled the 250 GB hard drive of my PS3 with games which I transfered directly from by friends PS3 using a LAN cable due to which his save games and installation of games and all things have come in mine,,,,

Is there any way to uninstall this games because they are unnecessarily occupying space on the PS3 hard drive....generally i play one game at a time ,,,,Would I loose the original game source if I uninstall the game because I dont want to download them again beacause of there huge sizes :huh:

Most games are native 720p so it upscales to 1080p, i found smoothing option quite annoying disabling it brings more sharper image.And disable 720i and 720p from Display Settings

Are you telling or asking ?

Is there any way to uninstall this games because they are unnecessarily occupying space on the PS3 hard drive....generally i play one game at a time ,,,,Would I loose the original game source if I uninstall the game because I dont want to download them again beacause of there huge sizes

Ftp using Filezilla and delete the games from GAMEZ folder or you can delete them from PS3 Saved Data just press Triangle and it will show the delete option
 
Thanks ,,,I m asking that can I uninstall the game from the PS3 with just the source remaining on the Hard drive of the PS3 ?

And If I delete from the PS3 saved data only the saved data will go right or will the installation of the game will go too?

For example I installed Heavy rain last night ,,,( Source file 18 GB + the Installation 5 GB)

So i want to remove this installation of heavy rain ( 5GB) as I m going to play it later....I want to keep the source file of the heavy rain ( 18 GB ) in the hard disk itself...

That 5GB is a madatory install required post the main game's installation. You won't be able to boot the game without that install. It's required cutting down the game's loading time.
 
I m not telling like that ...im not playing heavy rain now so will un install that 5gb installation then again when i want to play it i will re install it ....so easy there any option to uninstall it as im not playing it now???

Yes you can delete it. You need to head into the 'Game Data' folder in the XMB, click on the Triangle button once the Heavy Rain installed data is highlighted and then select 'Delete' option on the right hand side.
 
Hey guys Can any one guide me to see movies on the PS3...i did a bit of search on the net and mostly i got to know to use converters to convert the movie into the PS3 playable format,,,

Can anyone tell which would be the best converter ?
