What was guy thinking doing it on office computer. Still dont many companies block such sites.
A torrent aggregator site is nothing much to block in an office. It can also be used to download some legal distributions, though outnumbered by illegal ones.

Just downloading the torrent file is not the problem, it's perfectly legal. Downloading the copyrighted file which the torrent links to through its hash is illegal.

And also, blocking just some sites won't work in an office environment, and banning torrent clients too is m00t as even browsers can have those facilities added on. It's better to have a policy in place and let the employees know that doing shit in the office would be punishable.

Over the time as it grew, it couldnt sustain the traffic and was forced to block these websites. Hence, the basis

using company internet to download personal stuff is stupid. usually companies have static ip addresses assigned to them since they are heavy data users. best option would be to stay away from downloading any indian movies or music on such systems.

These police don't care a damn if you download any random TV show or a game and have problems only when you download hindi or some much anticipated or hit regional movie or Indian music.
