heh heh BF im telling u the 15mp is not overkill , the 50d is really impressive with ISO upto 6400 (1600 is usable with not much noise noticeable) and at 1/8000th of a second shutter rate u can literally freeze anything.

I would not recommend you to buy a DSLR from BKK. I'm sure you may find good/great deals there but I've personally not had a good experience buying electronics from BKK.

A laptop that my roommate recently bought from BKK came with a defective motherboard, another friend bought a laptop had to be replaced twice for various reasons and got his credit card number misused.

Never tried HK !

as i mentioned above, ive already compared the prices and honk kong seems to be cheaper. as far as bangkok goes, i know a very reputed store. ive even bought a camera from there long time back. even though i randomly came across that store ages back, i was quite surprised to find that it is a very well known store when i was doing my current research.

foto file ...

edit: i could be wrong. it was a recommended store in mbk, dont remember if it was foto file or some other one.

so a quick update from hong kong:

I BOUGHT THE D90!!!

got some free accessories - tripod and case (unknown brand), spare battery (some other brand), toshiba class 4 8gb sd card, a nikon towel and an adidas tshirt.. lol.

bought a hoya filter for the kit lens too.

everything included - $1200.

Congratulations!!!!! You are now in possession of a pro grade D SLR. :hap2:

BTW, which lens did you get? Hoya is a very good filter manufacturer. You must have bought the UV filter. Which other filters did you get?

^^ just the uv filter for now. bought the kit 18-105 vr for now. 18-200 with body only was a little to steep.

also, there was a kenko uv filter available for roughly 600rs cheaper, i bought the hoya instead, but after coming back to the hotel and checking online, i realised there really isnt a difference between the two. btw, shopping for cameras here isnt easy if you decide to buy it from a small shop. the prices vary ALOT. i decided to go for broadway which is a well known chain here. all the well known stores like broadway, fortress and other dedicated camera stores had the d90 out of stock, whereas the unreliable stores had them for very varying prices. finally, one broadway had a piece which had been preordered by someone. they offered it and i took it.

got back last night. will try and update you guys with some pics soon. watch out for the "show off" section.
