Hi,

I currently have a Corsair ddr2 800 mhz 5-5-5-18 timings and I'm going to buy another 2 GB with the same timings to make it 4 GB duel channel. But I actually need 6 GB of ram,so I'd have to buy another 2x1 GB RAM to get 6 GB . So the question is should the extra 2x1GB ram also should have the same timings as the 4 GB in Channel A. To simplify my question Channel A - 4 GB Duel Channel (5-5-5-18) Should Channel B also have (5-5-5-18) timings?

One more question please -->If I fill 3 of the 4 DIMM slots will I loose Duel Channel?

what??????:P

The RAMS in the second channel need not be the same as the first channel. But both RAMs in each channel should be the same.

And ya, with three slots dual channel willl be gone.
