check the ACER ad that has come in todays mumbai TOI on the business times page, bottom right. aCer is definitely better than hcl in terms of quality and support. theres an ad for a dual core acer with 160 gb hdd, gigabit lan, webcam, 1gb ram and dolby sound for less than 35k. i think thats a good deal in india!

but the acer ad says 2mb cache for t2080 processor whereas the hcl ad says 1mb cache. must be a misprint on the either side.. anyways theres a dvd writer AND a bright screen AND a 5 in one media card reader... its like getting double the features for just 5k more... go ahead with acer. i think the hcl deal is a loot...

The offers which come in the TOI .. and have the tagline that the offer is exclusively for the day .. and one is req to get the booking done on that day itself .. the offer actually is valid till their stocks last..

So u can get the offer even after subsequent days.

Normally changing RAM doesnt void the warranty. HDD not sure.
