DuckTales Remastered Coming to PSN, XBLA, Wii U

During PAX East today, Capcom announced DuckTales Remastered, a new title in development by WayForward. DuckTales Remastered will come to PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and the Wii U eShop this summer for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points) and will feature hand-drawn character sprites in a 3D world.

Disney voice actors are working on the game and original 8-bit songs have been remastered for the new title. Additional elements include a tutorial, a museum and the ability to swim through Scrooge’s money bin.

Fear not Spacey. It might just be on the PC too.

DuckTales Remastered may be 'woo hoo-ing' to PC

DuckTales Remastered is heading to the 360, PS3, and Wii U. But wait! There could be more, as Capcom's Christian Svensson has dropped a bomb that may result in a PC version of DuckTales as well.

When prodded on the Ask Capcom forums, Svensson stated: "Working on it. When I can confirm it, I will do so but for now, hang tight."

Um, yeah, that sounds fairly definitive. The more platforms the better!

BTW what's the deal with your PS3?

Thx for the info on PC port @Ethan_Hunt. :)

As for ps3 malfunctioning.. Still Dunno ..
The grand circle that i have, nobody seems to be having an HDMI cable atm! The only other person in the vicintity has been super lazy. Have ordered one and will have to see what happens.

Btw, cant we bombard them for a Hindi edition :p (send me some kinda link.. fb/twitter..)
Hate the Scottish Accent wala Unca' Scrooge..

Was really surprised that despite the iconic characters, there have been such a dearth of good Disney games. And 94 yr old actor coming back for a dubbing session.. hats off!

I would absolutely love a Hindi version. In fact, this is the best opportunity to localize a game content in India. Considering how well the TV show's Hindi dubbing was out here, the game would be embraced really well, if they could have the same voice talent. Looking at the gameplay video, Webby's voice is the only one which seems to be adorable. Scrooge's voice actor seems to be way too heavy on his Scottish accent and slang.

The theme song in Hindi alone, demolishes the English one:

Lo and behold.. We are kindred spirits here .. :D
So pretty seriously.. any links to send in a formal request? Cuz i am not kidding.

A fellow who has worked with Disney studios at the time of dubbing told me that nowadays there is no budget being meted out by Disney as used to be the case in the old days, and hence u see not so good dubbed content coming out.
But going by the legacy, maybe this deserves something spl and i am ready to start using FB for mass bombardment of emails.

Dunno how come i missed this thread till now. :|

I'm not really sure how this would work out. First off, it's Capcom who is developing this title. So if there needs to be any modification and/or addition to the game, it needs to be addressed to them. The best place to ask this question would be to start with the Capcom-Unity board. Here's the link DuckTales board

However, if we are even expecting an answer to such a query, we need to know how this process works and how they could actually achieve this in India, whether or not it's feasible for them.

^ Absolutely. Cuz this project itself will be quite an achievement for capcom.. The remastering in English alone..
And for them catering to one region might just open a can of worms, with other regions demanding something similar maybe?? (actually this might be a good predicament than a bad one.)

Also, it wont be a possibility that a nod from Disney isnt required...

Unless there is a really strong application filed with support from the gaming community and showing them the carrot of the scope/ideas of localization of games in India in the future, and driving home the point that this 'SHOULD' be the project to score on the Indian scene with a bang owing to its massive appeal from yesteryears and that the kids who watched it are now forming the backbone of gaming scene today.. It ll be a herculean task.

An online petition may work if there are plenty of supporters backing it up just like the Dark Souls PC port. The work involved would be adding an extra language and the voice acting + editing - not sure how substantial it would be, only a guy working in this field could say that.

^^ And people need to act quickly.
Even if they decide on including hindi port later on, i think the nod to the Hindi lang support needs to be catered to right now.. When most of the things are on the drawing board. (i maybe horribly wrong on this but needed to raise the point really)

Once the games are released in India, poor sales means that the game supply during the next lot basically is next to nothing.

So make a petition right away! It's free and doesn't take much time. Spread the word on forums and social networking sites, friends and relatives. If it hits at least the 20k mark (if not 1L), its a huge achievement!

Arey there is no issue in filing for a petition.. But the wordings need to be careful. Right from the word go.
The whole carrot thing which i was mentioning about.

Surely we can expect the target to reach some position.. but just like a nice business idea, there should be enuf key points for the studio to take notice of instantly. Anybody/group pls raise ur hand cuz if they go by my 'credentials', as soon as i ll be telling them that i havent even touched Ghost of sparta and they ll strike off Hindi as a language altogether.

I have made a post on a gaming forum as well.. i believe it should be a concerted effort to achieve something substantial.

We need to keep one thing in mind Spacey. The news of this being re-mastered is fairly limited and a lot of the shows fans aren't aware about it. Also, the demo-graph of this classic show in India has now considerably gone down, taking into account all the arsed cartoons being shoved on Cartoon Network and the remaining channels. So not only will it be a challenge to hunt down those who want this game to have a Hindi voice-over, but it's also a matter of tracking down the original Hindi voice cast. We are lucky that Capcom is even considering to revive this title. I guess with their recent franchises sinking faster than a dead Goldfish being flushed down the toilet, this is probably a desperate attempt to bring back some fans.

I agree on the points you raised, but if a 94 yr old voice actor can come back to dub for the game.. i think the studio here in India can get the voice actors back too.

Thing is, today this is one lil SNES game which is being remastered.. To get Hindi lang support maybe a good thing for future too. Surely a studio like Disney/Warner bros wont be sitting always and keep the others have a bite into the gaming scene pie?

I ll be writing to the animator who worked with the studio during the dubbing project. Maybe he can shed some light/support.
