Storage Solutions DVD+RW and CD-RW prob

Hi fellas. Don't bash me after reading the title.

Okay, here is the fact. My 2yr old one HP DVD+RW and 3yrs old one CD-RW and 1yr 3 months old Moserbaer DVD RW are not being detected. I tried on my friends' rigs, same result. I heard that these can be sometimes caused by small scratches and can be reusable cleaning with toothpaste etc. Is that true ?? What is the street price of a HP/Moserbaer DVD+RW and a good DUAL DVD+RW now ?

^.. DVD-RW & CD-RW were always unreliable media... they tend to fail without warning.... Which writer did you used... try Samsung... I've few re-writable discs which does not detect on my BenQ & LG writers.. but on Samsung they are detected fine..

If you can get them detected then do a full format & you might be able to use them again.. though this will always be unreliable... And yes that toothpaste thing works sometimes...

What is the cost of a new good DUAL DVD RW (HP/Moserbaer/Verbatim etc) these days btw? It would be helpful for taking games from friends.

Moser Baer should be ~40-50 bucks... Sony/HP/Verbs should be ~50-70 bucks depending on brand....

check nero info tool there drive information is given along with media compatible with the drive

Lolz... Dual Layer DVD-RW does not exist in India... Nobody sells them here... Never seen one...

according to nero only HD DVD-RW DL and BD RE DL are available not DVD +/-RW DL.

@sabby any success with those undetectable DVD RW and CD RW?
