PC Peripherals DVI connectors

The connector on my monitors (it's a crt) cable gets loose frequently due to the added weight of the dvi connector I have to use with my 6600gt.
Anyone else experience this?

Secondly can the monitor cable be modified to be fitted with a dvi connector at the end so I don't need to use a dvi convertor at all?

Also any idea how much a dvi convertor costs in the market, the shops here are asking me to pay 900rs for a single convertor.
 
heh, thats absolutely rediculous price for dvi connector. Its a lot cheaper than that here.
Anyway well you get flexible connector. Its like a 1 foot long wire. Insted of a block it has a wire, 1 end fits into DVI and other to the normal CRT VGA connector.
I saw one a while ago at shop in Lamington. Look for that.

If you or anyone happens to go there, can I get exact prices for these flexi-cable types.
I will also want to order a couple.
