Hello gang! Had some queries in mind.
My current rig is in my sign below. I have plans to buy a 24" monitor in the near future, so apparently the 8600GT will not suffice. Not thinking about nvidia, as it will be a long time before they bring out wallet-friendly cards.
In ATI, the best bet at full HD+ultra high settings+ DX 11+reasonable pricing seems to be the 5850, which incidentally gives only 40-45 fps at the aforementioned settings.
My question is.....is it worth spending so much money(16k) on a card which does not even give 60 fps at high settings?
Will drivers improve so much that the fps will also increase over the next year? Will that get negated by games requiring more juice out of the card?I don't see too many games being written natively in dx 11, as consoles can't handle it, and well, consoles rule the market now and atleast till 2012.
Or, should i just buy a 4870/5770 and forget dx 11 for now?
My budget will be like 15 max, whether it is 15k now, and no upgrades for 2 years, or like 8k now, 7k next year, partial upgrades.
Cheers
Vinny
