I just bought a new WD 1 TB Home Edition HDD.

My Book Home Edition 1 TB Hard Drives ( WDH1CS10000 )

And I have a Rosewill E-sata controller card on my PC.

Newegg.com - Rosewill RC-216 PCI Express eSATA II x 2 / ATA 133 x1 RAID 0/1/0+1/JBOD/ un-RAID mode Controller Card - Controllers / RAID Cards

I also have a 500 GB WD External E-sata with me. The 500 GB is easily detected by the card but the 1 TB is not. What could be the problem ?

The detection is done while the PC is doing POST before the OS loading.

Asus M2N32 SLI has onboard Esata connector. Could you try connecting your drive to that port and see what happens ?

I have sold it but I have a Gigabyte 780G MB at home which has a E-sata port will try and check here....Have Updated the Firm ware of the HDD still nothing. :S

I am facing another problem. When ever I copy data to the Esata drive the cpu usages goes 100 % for one core and data transfer rates drops. The usages is for Hardware interrupts. How can one resolve this.
