E51 - Is it still a good buy

looking for a cheap and good phone with wifi. would be travelling abroad on and off. hence looking at using fring (on wifi) for google talk to do voice chat with home in india...

is e51 still a good buy considering it supports 3g coming next year,
 
Yeah it is excellent. I use it to connect to internet with its GPRS, get around 10+ kBps d/l speed and upto 30kBps with IDM. Its a simple elegant looking phone but camera is just basic and music quality is ok. Browser is fast. EDGE and 3G supported.
 
Yes its a really nice phone. The UI is very responsive. :) :)

Only issue like others said is that the camera is not that great.
 
thanks guys. has anybody tried using fring on it ?

what kind of memory card does it use and what would be the maximum capacity for that
 
Havent used Fring on it but overall browsing experience is great on it. The cam takes below avg pics.

PS- Whats the price its selling at now ? I bought mine for nearly 14k Rs.

PPS- Have tried 2 GB card MicroSD , the company says u can put upto 8GB.
 
Out of all the Nokia mobiles i checked out E51 had a really good keypad and N78 had the worst of all.

Yup, sleek business like looks, black colour FTW! Best phone i've even owned :hap2: and i love it :) infact i use it to connect online and i get like average 12 kBps d/l speed, upto 35kBps softwares supported (Edge 3G It has all) :rofl:

Sir,
Presently i am using p990i since 1 year, what to change bcoz of
1. slow response
2. Size
3. Battery

Following my experience;
Tried
1. e50 for 30 days-Font size problem
2. N73 quite satisfied but found K750 - for Notebook interface
3. Changed to K750 bcoz of myphone explorer-quite good for messaging
4. Changed to p990i for Office Doc viewer and Edit feature, wifi, excellent Screen size.

Now, I realized Nokia's phone are excellent in low signal area, where i leave.

Please suggest with e51 any good pc interface software like myphone explorer
 
isnt nokia pc suite good enough? U can send msg from it as well, via ur mobile.

Bad things about it are.... its resource hog, with hdd space too. And is updated too often.
