Hi,
This is for my rig, the one in my signature.
I agree on the front that sooner or later I will need an aftermarket cooler but until then.
Somehow I don't believe the CPU or the MOBO is the limit for me but I feel it is the RAM which I cant get stable past 430Mhz or 860Mhz (DDR2).
All the voltages are at Auto including the vCore which is at 1.3ish will check again.
I will post screens of the Temp, BIOS settings, CPU-z etc once I get home.
All I want is 444x9~4Ghz or 500x8=4Ghz, I don't think 500Mhz is possible on the RAM I have, the MoBo will take it but the RAM will not.
What do you guys think? What should I do? Should I just sell off this RAM or I can do higher with it?

Other settings I remember which are not on Auto:
CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
C1E Support: Disabled
CPU TM Function: Disabled
Vanderpool Technology: Disabled
Execute Disable Bit: Disabled

I am currently using:
9x Multiplier
423 FSB
FSB Strap to NB: 400

Thanks for the help.
Have a nice day.

give the ram more volts :D (2.0 volts is ok)

try reducing the performance level too (its called common performance level on that board...try 8 or 9)

EDIT:: to check what is limiting the system, try dropping the cpu multiplier to 6 and increase the fsb... if it works fine, you know its the cpu...if not, then its the mobo/ram

I am in the same boat..

My OC is linpack (intelburn test) stable at 4.0GHz for 444x9 and 500x8 at 1.31v

but I get random blue screen (not when i run linpack) but like when i run crysis benchmark or sometime completely random...

I guess there is more to it then just vram, vcore ...

I think northbridge or southbridge voltage also need some bump..but not sure which one!!??

can someone help?

At those higher FSB, N/B volt certainly need to be bumped us. Take it to 1.30 and try increasing in patches thereafter if necessary
