Jus got an e-mail from PRIME..

SPB had sent it..

1. E8400 processor.= 7650/- :O :O :O

2. E8500 processor.= 12300/-

How on earth!?!?!?

If its true, nothin beats it in terms of price-performance.. Ditch the E8500..

And they never seems to update their website with newer prices..

Its 11k for the E8400 @ the site... :@

According to some news ...Intel is to slash wolfie processor prices in April....

I am waiting for that price cut.... but this is a good price for E8400

EDIT : Awesome price.....

^^Nope..

Its 8525 apparently..

The guy made a mistake.. Sorry folks.. 8525 but hey its still a lot cheaper than the E8500... :)

If the E8400 costs 8.5k in Prime then I am sure you can get it for 8k or so in Chennai/Delhi from a good dealer. Prime does not always give the best of prices and Mumbai is expensive.

Even @ 8.5K it’s a gr8 buy must say.

These dual core peryns are even taking on some quad cores in games as they were not optimized for more than 2 cores.

Even if u get this 8400 and OC it to 3.5 to 3.7 it wud make a hell of a system.

Also the 9x multiplier on the 8400 is gr8 and will take the chip to higher speeds without much troubling the rams.

The 8500 has a 9.5x so its just .5 greater than 8400 and its not worth paying extra 2 or 3K for it.

So E8400 is the best amoung the three i feel and is my ideal choice if i were to buy. :)

Peryns i am loving it.

I read that even while encoding videos these dual cores are head to head

if we use divx and xvid codec but H.264 mostly favors quad cores and the difference is noticable.

Waiting for applications to mature to quad cores but these E8XXX series does rock.

+1 Quadie.. :)

And besides a 4G is stable for a 24X7 setup...
