^^ Nice.

Let's face some facts. None of us work at Intel, and if we did we would not be allowed to disclose the truth of these things, period. In this fast-paced semiconductor industry, you can be certain that both Intel and AMD are looking over each others shoulders and making adjustments in products, if necessary. It would be bad business for them otherwise.

with just 5-10% increase in clockm to clock perf Penryn doesnt seem to be a processor worth waiting 3 months for...

Maybe Kentsfield nw and skipping the penryn for Nehalem is the way to go...

^^What did i tell you vij, esp regarding the launch schedule. It'll be more like 6 months not 3. Anyway if u want to upgrade, now's as good a time as any. When nehalem launches you'll say wait for the shrink. Jus get a Q6600 already :P

Exactly my thoughts. Besides even if we upgrade to Wolfdale, Nehalem is going to require a new motherboard. So ironically the best time to upgrade is NOW (if required) and then wait it out for Nehalem.
