I lost my M2, so looking for a replacement. I want something in the sub $80 range.

My top contenders atm are Fischer Consonance, Eterna, and Head-Direct RE0. Just want to know what the audiophiles here think will be the best option.

Depends on what your preferences are when it comes to audio, what you liked or disliked in a previous IEM you owned. So providing that information would help us better assist you. :)

I want something with good bass that feels tight and not all over the place. Of course, a reasonably wide soundstage and distinctive highs are also necessary. I will be mostly using it for listening to music. I hope this helps.

I am mostly considering the Fischer Consonance based on ClieOS' review.

Indyan, do take a look at ecci pr401. The bass is good and tight enough. Its got slightly recessed mids and good highs. The best part is the imaging, which is very good. Though it looks quite plain, it is well built and extremely comfy to use. The flat cable is a little prone to microphonics though.

Thanks guys. Based on online reviews, the S4 seems to be inferior to the M2 as it has trouble handling the mids. Will look into ECCI PR 401.

@Indyan

ECCI PR401 compared to M2's

Less bass but tight, more and smooth treble, more/better soundstage, it's mid-range is not as focused as M2.

I have used pr401 for quite some time. Mid range is focused enough! But the sound sig is not mid centric by any way! The mids on the m2 are more forward and lush compared to pr401, where the mids are clear with better imaging but slightly recessed and thinner sounding.
