India will be a superpower by 2050(I am not too sure abt this,but India will surely proclaim this on its own :bleh:)
 
On a more optimistic note, recollecting a SCIAM article I read around few months back

We would have figured out a viable source of alternative energy
Average Human lifespan will be increased to 120 years
Solar system would have been extensively travelled and mapped [with still not closer to achieving FTL travel]
Population growth would be more controlled
Permanent stations would have been set-up in Moon or Mars
Quantum computing would be a reality and used for day-to-day purposes
We would finally find a way to predict natural disasters
 
We will still be driving hovercars and bikes on sidewalks. Also the Rajnikanth "awsomeness" gene will be a commercial hit. Everyone will have the chitti power :P
 
  • I will be a successful billionaire stock-broker/businessman :D
  • Pakistan will break up into smaller nations but will eventually be merged back into India
  • China will be dropped from the UNSC as a permanent member, India will take its seat instead
  • There will be settlements on Mars and on the Moon
  • Wires/Cables of all kinds will be obsolete
  • Humans will live longer, nanobots will be present in our blood streams detecting and curing any signs of sickness
  • China's economy would fall from its current position, but measures will be taken later and it will start to recover, maybe it will be a democracy till 2050
 
I Would say Android 20 and iOS 30 will be out
And min spec of a phone will be a 40MP cam with 4800p recording 4 pico projectors Dual Xenon Flash and 20GHZ processor with 512GB RAM
And macbooks cost just 20K ipods 3K
Maybe a diamond studded Macbook air/prowith Platinum unibody and Silver keys?????

a 4TB RAM
400TB HDD
a GFX card equal to 10^6 times of SLI GTX 480

All this at just 50K

You should read up on Moore's law.Actual computing power will be waaaaaaaay more by 2050!! ie. if the earth survives all the doomsday predictions between then and now.:)

I forsee at least two nuclear wars. Middle east would be in ruins. India would be on the verge of collapse due to the huge illegal immigrant problem.
