yeah 4:3 and 16:9 are aspect ratios, but i clearly mentioned the horisontal lines(aka vertical res.) to be 576 ( checked wikipedia it is 576 !!....i remember!) compaired to 480 of NTSE
ie. 576i/p for pal and 480i/p for NTSE

THe fact is when standard definition was popular in the pal regions ( these are just region codes now as SD is now almost extinct in other countries), TVs came ther in 4:3 ratios, the conventional resolution. while in NTSE it was 16:9 form the start ).when HD came in 16:9 was popularised in PAL regions.
Wikipedia is lacking in information, it just give the no. of horizontal lines. not the vertical one ( well i wont call it lacking ...because horizontal scan is what counts in tv engg. , but it should atleast tell in PAL countries what reolution was used) here is the link you can understand it better
wikepedia article
you can get the as the no. of pixels is limited you can calculate the max horizontal res. ...its limited by technology

We had TV engineering in our sixth semister i know this.
her is a pic i remember from the book ( damn you made me draw it :p)
Sorry that i was unable to explain every thing properly earlier but i never gave incorrect info.
you guys are forgetting about the frame rate which i believe is the main difference between ntsc(29.97) and pal(25)

Need urgent help with GEB usage

guys, i am planning to get lcd panel for my netbook (thinking of it for a long time). Earlier it used to be listed with GEB @4k. Couple of days back it was 3.5k and now with free shipping its @ 3k :)

Was having one doubt though. If the USA seller ships the wrong item. And after receiving it here i get to know that and mail seller about the same. Now if he asks me to ship it back for replacement, what can i do? Will i be eligible for refund as i cant ship it back to USA as is impractical. Also who will lose money in this transaction, i2c isnt at fault here but they buy the product for me. And may be they will hold back refund to me in this case.

Please guide me guys so that i can take the jump till the scheme lasts. Anybody faced situation that item shipped through GEB is not according to specifications and still got refund?

Thanks in advance.

I'm going through a similar situation. In my case ICC World of GEB sent me a wrong product of lesser value. I was asked to ship it back to their Mumbai branch. I did that and for the next 10 days ICC World guys kept refusing to accept he courier. Finally it took 2 days of frantic phone calls to get them to accept the packet.

In short, there was no hassle of international shipping :p

Hope this info helps.
