Hi,
This is purely for educational purposes, I'm just interested in what is the difference between b550 and x570 motherboards.
I read bunch of sites explaining me the difference, didn't get to my head.
So was hoping to get answers here.
If someone manages to answer me, I have few follow up questions ready so please bare with me .

More PCI-e lanes, more connection options, and better vrams to handle more power delivery to more power hungry cpus.

So pcie 4.0 right? Do both of them have 4.0? And the amd cpu come with 4.0 version so they will be faster on this boards right. Same with other lanes? GPU m.2??

Yes both have pcie 4.0 ,processor provides fixed amount of pcie lanes , the additional pcie lanes vary from b550 and x570 ,currently the GPU s do not completely utilize the pcie 4.0 negligible performance uplift observed ,pcie 4.0 M2 ssd do use it to its fullest but than those SSD are costly

The lanes out of the x570 chipset are PCI-e 4.0 as well while the lanes out of B550 are PCI-e 3.0. Also the x570 has way more available lanes than B550.

Not much.
Unlike 400 series where the quality of the boards changed a lot betwee450 and 470

550 and 570 have a lot in common.

FTF, b550 boards have amazing build quality compared to 450. I have an Mai gaming edge WiFi , and damn, it looks and performs amazing.

From the top of my head , x570 has more more pcie lanes and better vrm for more overclocking potential.
More pcie lanes allows for things like 3-4 pcie 4.0 m.2 bays, multiple pcie 4.0 16X slots etc etc

basically, only people who have an absolute need for those features should go for them, cause they are not cheap!
