Laptops EEEPC 4G or ACER ASPIRE ONE

^^ IMHO i don't feel so.. Especially for the reason that it is a 4 cell battery.. The 80GB version which is 1K less with 6 cell and 7hrs battery life with 1.3Megapixel cam is definitely a better vfm.. Remember buying a 6 cell battery would cost you 4K. That makes the 160GB 3K more just for an 80GB extra HDD.

What is the present price of Acer Aspire one , 160GB version .. do i have to buy the OS along or can i get one w/o it.

In bangalore linux version the cheapest i could find was 20K all inclusive.. its 80GB i think. Windows verison with 160GB 4 cell version was 23999 in ezone..

These are not sp road prices.. it shd be cheaper there

Corrections people :bleh:

The Acer Aspire one has 2 version, both with the SAME hardware configs.

120Gb HDDs in both.

ONLY difference:

Xp version for 21.5k, Linux for 19.8k (pune)

So basically 1.7k for Xp. :) The <20k version is a good buy :D

As for the E1000H, the 80Gb version has been discontinued and could be harder to source. The 4cell battery is in fact quite decent and offers about 4 hrs of runtime easy in power saving mode.

^^ nope may be u need to check again.. there is a 120GB XP version available for 22.8K and there is a 160GB version available for 24K here in bangalore. You may be right about 120GB in linux version. SO there are 3 models

and @Techie: wat is the price of eee pc 1000h 160GB version in Pune?

what abt MSI wind??

its a definite vfm @ ~ 21K ... But finding one is difficult :( It was my first preference as well but couldn't get hold of any dealers with ready stocks.. But some may not like the wind as the finishing / build quality is not that good compared to eeepc which i heard

@ bublez:

1. The wind isnt so cheap :( 21.5k + 4% VAT here. Almost same specs as the Aspire one, making the Aspire One a better buy.

2. I think the guy who gave you the aspire one specs was prob mistaken :) Official price/ MRP of the One is 24k :P The 120Gb is the ONLY hardware option I have yet seen. The 160 gb version is also supposed to come with a 6-cell battery in the US, so please check that too :) If true, thats a good option for 24k :D

3. E1000H? Probably 24k + for sure.

UPDATES:

1. E1000H: 26.5k as usual everywhere with that same offer going on.

2. 160Gb Acer Aspire One with 3 cell battery: expected here in 10 days. Price: Existing + 1250. so xp version: 21.5+1250 = 22.75k

Thanks techie.. All the info u gave will be very helpful for prospective buyers..

1000H price isnt good at all for the 160GB. Even here its the same price :( I was sincerely thinking of getting the 160GB as i am finding it difficult to manage the HDD with a 1mbps connection. I use the laptop mainly for downloads. I hope the price comes down.. but ur place has very good prices for aspire one series :) :)
