El Clásico ~ Barcelona VS Real Madrid

I was kinda shocked that there was no thread discussing El Clásico on TE....Well I do not know if there are many FCB or Madrid fans...but hey...we all love football , huh!

So , 29-11-10 is the date when the two all time rivals meet again @ Camp Nou with only 1 point separating the 2 teams..

It's going to be amazing , especially after Barca's 8-0 win over Almeria and Madrid's 5-1 over Athletic...

Both the teams are in top notch form !!

isn't it more likely a match between Messi and Ronaldo ?? :P

neways...all i know is that FCB is gonna crush Mourinho's team !! :chair:

Go FCB :yahoo:

never underestimate the special one!!..he is a master tactician, he masterminded Barca's fall in the semis of the UCL last year, and Messi was not allowed to play at all.

So, it is going to be a cracker, but I dont think Barca will win it!!!!

Ok...I know Mourinho's good at what he does...UCL Semi's was one place where I saw Messi all frustrated...3 ppl markin on Messi ? wtf was that?? But after that game players like Bojan n others have developed lot better...I remember Bojan was the only one who had 2 SOT's in that game in quick time..

neways...if they have Jose , we have the Spaniards !! best mid-field line up in the world perhaps....and with the God Child Himself in the team...you never know what he is going to do next..

Oh btw , there's some one called as D Villa also in the squad who is also having a good season so far ;-)

Its Camp Nou , home ground....hoping to see some real good barca game....

this is going to be a very tight game with both sides playing defensively. I'm predicting a 1-0 or 0-0 for either side...

m actually surprised.....so less ppl have interest in this ?? 1st there was no thread..and now not many replies...i thought we gamers/ geeks / enthusiasts are mostly into football.....

neways...Yea , even m expecting it to be 0-0 or 1-0......

come on be REAL guys:ohyeah:..."the special one" is gonna take on barca pretty hard....i guess its 2-0 real wins :hap2:

I root for Barca (as always). The game will have fireworks. Messi vs Ronaldo is gonna be yummy. I hope Messi crush Ronaldo's ego once again :)

1st Bolded part: It is an Italian defence style used by Greece to good effect in their Euro 2004 victory. It is called the catenaccio

Catenaccio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2nd Bolded Part: The Barcelona Football Club is based in Catalunya in Spain and all the main team members are Catalans (Xavi,Iniesta,Pique,Puyol,Pedro,Valdes etc).
Catalunya has been fighting for Independence from Spain since the 19th Century. I dont think catalans would like someone calling them spaniards :).In fact, I remember Puyol singing "Ca ta lunya..." while celebrating Spain's world cup triumph during the World Cup Finals celebration ceremony.

3rd Bolded Part: 11 appearances in all competitions and 6 goals, Dont know if I can tell if he is having a good season :).

LOL...my fav engineer strikes!!...how is going Darthy....any luck?? still there?

As for the Calalunya part...yea..we are aware of that...but that dont mean that they aren't Spaniards...They still represent the country and it was Spain who won the cup ! so that is why the term "Spaniard" has been used.

about the defense style , thanx for the input :) didn't know bout it...

As for Villa's season so far , as from I see the game , he seems to be enjoying the game...

FYI, Catalan is a different language and is different from Spanish.
One of my best friends is Catalan and he slapped me when I called him Spanish.
Catalaunya have their own football team but as they are not an independent nation they cannot compete by themselves.

Barcelona is much more than a football club, it is a political movement as well. That is why the caption on their stands read "Mes Que En Club"
meaning "More than a club". The first thing that I read on my visit to Camp Nou was that Barcelona openly supports the creation of a separate
Catalunya and this was one of the reasons of its formation (Some of its Directors were shot dead in the 1920s during the civil war for this very
own reason). Now dont make me pull out my Barca History book and bore you with How Johann Gamper helped formulate the club and its ideas
and took the "Red and Blue" (Blaugrana) Jersey Idea from FC Basel and all that. FYI, there is another club in Barcelona (Espanyol) which is
politically not as vocal as Barca in its creation of Catalunya and that is why not as Popular.

Damn all this talk of Barca makes me Hungry for Paella and thirsty for Sangrilla :(

1) Iniesta != Catalan

2) We'll just need Super Pepe to mark the flea

3) We will be playing with 10 men. (Ronaldo will disappear, as usual)

My bad, that should have been Fabregas :(.
Haha, you and your Super Pepe :P.
Yeah, Silvinho was enough to keep Ronaldo in check, Abidal will do much more I guess :P.

Meanwhile, in Manchester ........

I dont think the games gonna be decided in the midfield alone or by a messi or ronaldo, i feel its gonna be a toss between barcas fall backs v/s Madrids aerial long balls. Remember barca are weak in the air whilst dani alves might just slip through while all the attention is on messi.
For Barca to get it right, they will have to work on Reals left :)
