Well, in India we get Roadside Food and 5 Star Hotel food... Basically both are food, but all depends on which food do you prefer to eat!!! Eat roadside food that looks exactly same as 5 Star Hotel food, but the probability of falling sick is more with roadside food...
hyeah:I need to second this. There are different quality stanadrds available in china made goods. We need to understand that good quality goods are also available. Infact most of mnc has moved to china for low manufactuing cost. I am using couple of mobiles ...feature and cost wise .. they are really good.

About the chinese so called fake....in my opinion some of them are pretty good, greater life and are at par with other company like SE and Nokia. However not all chinese phonea are "fake". Some manufacturers are putting their own branding and some are "inspired" by the international brands. Nokia is either NOK1A or n0kia. To prevent any potential lawsuits, they try to make money by selling in developing countries' markets where chinese stuff are sold in Abundant- like Mohammed Ali road in Mumbai.

First off, the phone who have their own brand names (names that imitate other brands in form of words and symbols, in my opinion, are illegal- I dont know know the legal point) do they honour warranty in their own country? if not, then definatly not in India. These brands must be small and cant afford advertisement until a firm ground is made by the company. So I guess it relies on the buyer and "his luck". However buying these phones from "niche" industries who dont honour warranty in India is as good as buying a grey market cellphone from a reputed brand- its all depends on the piece. These phones are CHEAP but they pack an awesome punch and some do have a great life. So it depends on many factors-local rep of the manufacturer which would be bit tough to find out about, the built quality of the cellphone, manuals (in any case, good companies will always give a good manual for reference), packaging, expansion options (do you think you would get official add-ons from a duplicated phone?) and buyers luck. Some will find out that these chinese phones are way better off then grey market phones but some vice versa. So it depends on the buyer rather then the seller and the manufacturer.
if your talking about imitations and copy cats.. what about HTC touch using the multi touch technology after the iphones came out with the same tech.. need we stop using HTC phones ? ... and talking about reliablity and quality.. China phones arent so costly, but they have the same technology used in the branded phones as well... if it breaks down.. it wont burn a big hole in my pockets..
there is nothing unethical about copying...unless it is copyright material...
and often mobile phone designs arent that original...not even ipods scroll wheel, if am correct....designs sprung up from inspirations from other designs...so ...who isnt copying

I have never come across a single Chinese product that worked for long or had quality. (except the MNC’s who have their own set standards) . This is just my opinion.
