Ok, so the parents are planning a 10 day europe trip in July.

Need to know which tour operator is better out of these two which seem to be the two top ones, info bout any hidden charges etc?

Any suggestions, experiences etc are welcome :cool2:

I worked for Cox & Kings for 12 years, I left them in 1980. I headed the inbound tourism department as against the outbound tourism which is what you are asking about :)

I feel SOTC have a better name for outbound tourism and maybe you will be better off using their services. I know the original owner of SOTC quite well, Mr Ranjit Malkani.

1980 ?? And already worked for 12 years ?? How old are you :P

One of my friends is going on a 25 (dont remember exactly) day tour to Europe from Thomas Cook! The total expected cost is around 1.8L per person!

we went to mal/s'pore thru cox n kings...
good exp overall....nothin extraordinary....infact few glitches here an there....but i guess that can be expected frm everyone....
no idea abt sotc....
but if u can afford to shell out a bit more....go for kesari...
ive heard their service is much better than sotc/cox/raj etc...

62!!! :D

Thomas Cook is sometimes expensive compared to the Indian tour operators such as C&K;

When we went to Malay/S'pore during '99, TC was charging around 50k for a person [10 days; with eco class seats + complementary b'fast] whereas C&K had the same for 40k for 10 days with more or less same conditions!! :)

C&K offers a lot of flexibility; such as we sponsor the air travel and they take care of the stay and ground travel etc;

@Techie_007: Dude, 10 day trip in Europe is too small a duration for stay in the Europe; spend at least a fortnight; all places are centrally accessible form London; :)

Very true - dont rush through each major place in only a day or less you will not really enjoy the experience.

If the trip has to be 10 days, visit fewer locations, if you can then extend it to a fortnight - don't try to cram all of europe into 10 days..

Waah, Eazy bhai can get us SOTC discounts then :D

I said I knew the "original" owner of SOTC.... he sold the company to Kuoni's a while back :tongue:

Yeah, but he can still pull a few strings :P

@Techie --- It's better if you ditch all this and plan the whole trip on your own. That is what I'll be doing when I finally get to go to Europe.

The only "organised" tour I had been to was one to Malaysia in Feb. Pretty sad actually. No freedom to do anything on your own. I mean, you pay for a lot of stuff you might not be interested in !!

LOL avoid organized tours at all costs. Just go yourself, rent a car and roam around. Nothing better than complete freedom :D.

errr....I am not going :ashamed: decided to save the parents some cash :P ll go sometime when i have enuf saved to blow some up ;) Only mom-dad going.

+

1. 25th ani for them, so told them to go n have a blast. :D

2. Both can only get leave for ~10days, so 10 it is.

3. dad wants to avoid the hassle to arranging everything etc, feels better with a tour thingy.

4. Currently looking at SOTC and TC then :) Lets c.
