CPU/Mobo Everest "FPU only" Stress Test

ok guys, whoever hav everest can yall try this out....i found it quiet odd + temps actually frightend me
in everest's stress test select only "stress FPU" and then run the test....my core temps went up like crazy..touched 80*C within 15 seconds
wierd part is...if i select all the options in the stress test .i.e. stress cpu,fpu,memry,cache then the core temps max at aroun 73*C :S
are these temps normal ? safe ?

i think these temps r normal mine also got hot. the stress test was just for 2 mins

CPU C2D-E4500

extreme load temps:core#1 76C core#2 76C CPU:77C



and if u r thinking the CPU is overclocked think again its just a manufacturing defect a few of my frnds also got this defective batch

Its probably a bug

My E4500 @ 2.7Ghz in both the CPU and FPU tests @45

:O mine was at 83, 84*C aftr 40 secs after which i stopped the test...fearing it would get fried

Hmmm.. I tried it, the FPU only stress test on my Q6600 for two mins.

The temps rose upto 72° c, didn't cross it though.

My CPU is clocked at 2.66 GHz, no overclocking and on stock HSF.

one last question r u using the half height HSF or the full one

A bug mostly. Ran it for 5 mins (still running). Temps while running BOINC are more than what it is now

^ the cooler is ok it full height one. so i conclude it is a bug.
