evga brand a problem??...but i've heard a lotta good stuff abt evga?...read a review of their 6800 ultra extreme long back....quite good

Yeah...... I don't think evga brand is a problem..... I have heard a lot of good reviews abt it. I almost got an Evga 6800GT but amazon.com screwed up.

And Delhiboy ------ The Gainward 6800 has only 12 pipelines. This particular model has all pipelines unlocked which make it a 6800GT/Ultra depending on what clock speed you run it at....

Tell me..... where do you get an eVGA 6800GT for 12K????

And why the hell should I take sides with him just because I am selling my RAM??? What connection is there??? I fail to understand your logic......

Well evga is a decent brand, though its present only in N.America,AFAIK.
But when the Gainward 6800 is available for 13 odd here ,then this one should be no more than 10k.
BTW,nikhil:the seller says its a 6800.Almost all NV40 die-based 6800s can be unlocked. On the other hand,NV40 chips have faulty video processors. So HDTV is actually better viewed on the 6600 than the 6800  .The NV41 die which can't be unlocked has the functioning video processor though. So its not exactly win-win.

well, instead of posting all this info here in the For Sale thread, why dont you guys create a "6800 unlocing potential" thread? coz all this stuff in the FS thread looks bad..

no offence to anyone..

Last Outta topic.

Had read a discussion thread at Hardocp long time back, where the EVGA ti 4200 were failing within a year. They dont rate the brand as decent

The success rate for unlocking to 16 pipes plus 6vp without artifacts is less than 40% and provides a decent performance jump. Not all 6800's can be unlocked whoever believes this should do some research.

Here are some benchmarks showing a consistent 10% jump in perf after being unlocked

As for the brand not being decent I read a lot of reviews before getting this one and i did not hear any problems. The cooler on this one is quite big and covers the ram chips as well. Ill post a pic soon.

Here is an analysis of the cooler on the card

Oh my god.
When are we gona learn to keep these discuessions out of sell/buy section?
Guys this is not digit forums.
About evga, what you guys are talking about. I have used evga cards for last 3 years. I always tell my relatives to buy evga cards from US.
I have used their GF4 ti 4400, gf FX 5900U, GF 6800GT and none gave any problem except small DVI problem on 5900U which was kinda my fault and which got replaced. Damn which company offers warranty internationally, only XFX does that officially but evga replaced my card in 1 week flat and i had my card back to me on 9th day.
EVGA is regarded as the most reliable brand in US. They have quality cards. They have the best tech support in the world, have a problem? shoot them a email and they will respond with 24 hours every single time no matter where you live. Its a brand that i prefer over MSI, XFX, gainward anyday for the price - performance - quality ratio.

Maybe I was wrong about the brand, I was planning to buy a ti 4200, 2 years back, and ppl at [H] didnt give a favourable reply. And yes Mods please delete all my post in this thread, its just thread crapping ;)

Well im gonna think over the price and whether i think this is worth selling. So this sale is suspended. Mods please close the thread.
