The great IT hub, the "new world" of information technology,PUNE doesn't have any shops selling Gigabyte, Biostar or MSI products. I have been running around trying to get a MSI mobo since the last week and before that Gigabyte and Biostar but all I get is " sir, ye sab bohut kam log lete hain. Idhar nahi milega. Service ka bhi lafda rehta hain. Asus ya Intel le lijeye" ... :@

Had got one fellow who said he can give MSI but suddenly backtracked last evening.

Are the above mentioned boards really so exotic or this place really as pathetic as I think it is for computer peripherals ?

Any enlightened souls suggesting alternatives or places most welcome.

Btw Tried all the shops mentioned on this forum.

this is my config

Processor: Athlon II X4 620 - 5.3 K

Motherboard : MSI GM785 - E51 /E65 - 4.8 k / 5.7 K

RAM: Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz - 2.6K

GPU: ATI 4850 512MB - 6.5 K

HDD: WD 500GB SATAII 7200.12 series - 2.6K
Cabinet: Coolermaster elite 330 - 1.9 K
SMPS: Corsair ( VX450W) - 4 K

Ummm this place is pathetic. Coolermaster stuff wasnt available so went all the way to Phoenix in Mumbai to get my PC :( I also wanted Gigabyte mobo but unfortunately it was outta stock allegedly in Mumbai too so gave up and bought an Asus instead. MSI's are rare and Biostar well..... Gigabyte's are manageable tho. Check around some shops or PM me I'll give you some tips.

IMHO, your best option.

Bought my CoolerMaster PSU from them as it wasn't available locally (Chennai).

Checked prime site.no MSI, Gigabyte, the one recommended here 785 chipset not available o the site. no biostar also.

I am increasingly beginning to think it is a bad idea to go for these brands. They are not even widely available , god forbid if something conks off and then I have to run th entire length and breadth of the country to get them replaced.

The same emotion made me buy an Asus board. Now its not that Asus boards are bad or something. I have a Asus P45BGLX board running 6 yrs in now... Served me for 4 yrs... now its with ma sis.

You just checked the site and came to the conclusion that its not available? Put some extra efforts into calling them, they might just order it from somewhere else incase its out of stock.

And did you even bother checking with the TE dealers ? :S

And there is www.Techshop.in | www.theitdepot.com |

I pulled some strings here . Spoke to a friendly neighbourhood IT shop guy and he has promised to get me the stuff by Wednesday. The reason I am bit skeptical about ordering online is that I have to pay a bit more and secondly i don't have the advantage of going to the purchase point directly in case of any problems.

Thanks for the links though. will check them out.

There you go :P

But then, its not much of a hassle if you get it online through any of the dealers. You just need to pack it up and send it. I would rather opt for that option anyway. But lucky you :D
