Experience with Speedpost

Apparently for my parcel which I never received I complained to the Superintendent and he called the Postman who said he came and asked our neighbors and they said there is no one like that in this area (which is very difficult to believe because I had specifically told my neighbors a few days before that I was expecting a parcel and gave each one my name on a slip of paper). I am trying to follow up with the sender now to get it again.

Also yesterday my Dad was supposed to receive a parcel through them and seeing what happened to my package, he went to the post office and asked the Postman who first mentioned that there is no parcel like that received. My Dad then went to the Super and complained who checked the tracking number and said yes it is here (during this time the Postman got desperate and managed to find the parcel). However it was already opened and looks like that fellow had tried to see what was in it.

So if you have a choice try to avoid this at all costs and go for any other Courier service.

Your experience with speedpost doesnt seem very good to me, reading such posts makes me feel very anxious. I am scared that my parcel also might not reach the receiver in time.
 
Well didn't mean to scare you but you could keep checking the tracking info and once you see it at a PO near you better go and check with them after a day or so.
 
Speed post is good and they also have really good rapport with the people in my locality. It might take a while in interior areas but they get delivered unlike with other courier services where they just call up and ask you to pick up package from their office. Also their tracking shows more updates regarding shipping status than other couriers for peace of mind.
 
Thank you guys for all your inputs but my first time experience with Speedpost has been very disappointing. I sent the courier to Vadodra to a forum member. The package was received at the Vadodra post office on the third day and now the post office person calls the receiver and asks him that he has to come to the post office to collect the package or else the package will be returned back to me in Delhi within 8 to 10 days. I mean how bad is that, I paid the full money to make the product reach his house and not his city, they say they cannot deliver it because it is not within their coverage area or something like that.
 
Any one can claim the speed post charges if it the speed post article is not delivered as per norms.

I think you have not read my above post. It got delivered just to the city and not to the receiver home address which was mentioned on the package. They are now asking him to pick it up from the post office.

I read it mate, its a common thing. If the address is bit complicated, or the postman is newly appointed, then they usually ask the receiver to pickup the item from post office
 
even if that is the case i still think that the package should have been delivered to the address, when they can deliver items @o remote villages then a city h!use shouldnt be much trouble.
 
As I mentioned before, as this is a Govt. service as usual it is left to the mercy of the Postman and I guess now they will start expecting compensation (money) when they do deliver any package. So better to start avoiding it from now.
