Expired Passport Wrong DOB over 5 years

Hi ,
any suggestion from person with knowledge will be very helpful.

My mother had made her passport in early 2000s and it was a clerical mistake with DOB. None of us did anything at that time and times passed by. Infact we did not realize it was mistake as mum never mentioned it. S

We plan a foreign trip for her early next year .
I am going through google to see what can be done. If anyone has good knowledge on this please share some more details.

I am trying to look for old documents required - Birth certificate , School pass certificate etc.
 
You will have to apply for re issue of passport.
Make an application online with correct details, submit and then take appointment.
Documents required will be old passport in original with 2 self certified copy, proof for date of birth.
Aadhaar card copy is not mandatory but if its available makes the process faster.

Are you sure this will be an issue while applying for a visa? Because all they ask for is the passport.

My mom has the same issue, in the sense that her DOB in the passport is 17/correct-month/correct year. While her actual birthday is 25/correct-month/correct year.

She's gotten visa for the UK and UAE since.

For proof of date of birth one needs original certificate with registration number and school certificate.

Just called my mum she has none. My mother is quite old now and might have completely misplaced it .

I don't know what to do .
Affidavit is one and only thing that I can arrange ...rest I am trying to check with her.

Aadhar and pan card are there.

We are applying for renewed passport as old one has expired many years ago.

If it was still active . We could have got the visa for her too.
 
On passport seva website, under list of acceptable document for proof of date of birth, following is also accepted
-Policy Bond issued by the Public Life Insurance Corporations/Companies having the DOB of the holder of the insurance policy
-Copy of an extract of the service record of the applicant (only in respect of Government servants) or the Pay Pension Order (in respect of retired Government Servants), duly attested/certified by the officer/in-charge of the Administration of the concerned Ministry/Department of the applicant
-Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar
-PAN Card
-Election Photo identity card
-Driving License

I also was in similar situation earlier this year .I had some corrections in address but i had just requested for re-issue . the guy told me it should have been applied under correction . i mentioned him i didnt see those kind of options while applying anyways he accepted the corrections as i had all the original proofs .

For your case .Book under tatkal to save time which can be used for visa application and approval etc. .Take all the original documents which you have for the proof of DOB and 2 copies of it .Since your mother is Sr citizen she will get priority service at the center you will be in and out of it within 30 mins if there are not a lot of old people. Be with her during the appointment. Best of luck.

I am trying to arrange original documents with correct date and talking to some government officials too and see if we can contact some source too .

For senior citizens Aadhar card should do. I got it for my father and also one word in his name was misspelt in the old expired passport. They took the correct name from the Aadhar card for his renewed passport. No other documents and no questions were asked.

Forgot to update this.
Maybe might help others

So my mother's passport was done without any issues.
DOB was not changed. They refused rest of the issue no problem at all.

Police Verification time those people took Rs 500. They ofcourse don't ask directly but make it very obvious like saying we can cancel it because dob is wrong etc even though passport office had cleared.
They even indicated more but one my family member is in media and they went along which made them not cross the line.

And also passport came within 12 days from the passport office interview date .

Visa and everything was no problem also.
She had a good trip recently.

So hope this info helps.

They only took aadhar for my mother but maybe because she is senior citizen and rest might have to give more docs but very unlikely specially in case of reissue.
Voter card also works great.
