PC Peripherals External combo drive or DVD-RW?

We're planning to buy an external combo drive for our office - so that we dont have to include a drive on each of the PCs. This is also better for us from many other points of view.

Any thoughts on which brand is good ? and costs?
 
^^you might want to check if the casing will function in DOS mode. Needed when installing OS or for diagnostics/ repair.
 
Oh yeah.. I need to be able to install OS.

Secondly, I believe that the external drives can be connected thru USB slots.. Whats the ppoint in getting a normal dvd-rw and put a casing? In this case I need to open the cabinet everytime I try to read or write a disk?
 
^^he meant a USB casing. You can connect it thru USB. Only, some cheaper casings are not recognised in the BIOS.
