this is what you get when a bunch of high paid engineers sit idle on their success :)

But a sizable achievement nonetheless.

Ultra-thin bezel with a special stand

According to AMD, they have been working closely with Samsung Electronics in order to introduce monitors that will be specially designed for ATI's Eyefinity technology.

The key with these monitors is that the bezel needs to be ultra-thin in order to minimize the area between two monitors and a special stand that should allow easy tilt for, what AMD calls, "immersive and virtually seamless" ATI Eyefinity experience.

ATI has decided to show the world a glimpse of its new ATI Eyefinity technology and what it can do. This is an interesting next generation 3D gaming card that can get single system for multi-tasking on six screens.

Samsung should be the first to bring these monitors to the market, and we certainly hope that it won't bring an "immersive and virtually seamless" price tag as well. (No one will ever buy it anyway. sub.ed.) On the other hand, AMD did use Dell monitors on its Eyefinity presentation.

Quite impressive, shame there arent any single large display of that kind of resolution to use this at its glory.

i bet crysis doesnt work well :P

That's six Dell 30" displays, each with an individual resolution of 2560 x 1600. The game is World of Warcraft and the man crouched in front of the setup is Carrell Killebrew, his name may sound familiar.

Driving all of this is AMD's next-generation GPU, which will be announced later this month. I didn't leave out any letters, there's a single GPU driving all of these panels. The actual resolution being rendered at is 7680 x 3200; WoW got over 80 fps with the details maxed. This is the successor to the RV770. We can't talk specs but at today's AMD press conference two details are public: 2.15 billion transistors and over 2.5 TFLOPs of performance. As expected, but nice to know regardless.
