So are there any game shows currently telecast on Indian Television
There's one on StarSports/ESPN by the name of GAME. It is very lame though. Singaporean or some else chingys host that.

A decent preview put up here - E3 2011: Far Cry 3 Preview | IncGamers

The game features a new protagonist. I really wish, the plush green tropical islands from Farcry returned. Hated the second game's settings in the African landscapes.
Loved it for this. Those were the days, when hardware costs = BOMB. And salary = zilcho...!

But those lush green locales. I remember just watching the beach open sequence with the title, and the camera panning. Flying gulls...! Woa....! AI was PITA.

^[OT]: Damn! Anil, you seem to be a lot elder than the usual crop here. :P

Yup the repetitive gameplay killed Far Cry 2. I only played it for a bit and left the game. Everyone who played Far Cry and loved it would really want to have the lush green jungle look back. Let's hope Far Cry 3 brings it back.

Though the Far Cry 2 gameplay might not have been so good, it's graphics were certainly great. Also, it was very well optimized and scaled well even on low end hardware.
Right on that....the graphics were great and used to run very smooth.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

Well, going by the E3 preview video, looks like FC3 will have the best of the previous two. And the dialogues seem quite good too. :D

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

Far cry 1 was awesome, far cry 2 got too common after a few hours of game play. They messed up the storyline, jackal should have been the enemy at the end.Graphics and engine was excellent though.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

^^Thanks for the spoiler dude:P...but its ok,I've had it for a year and not finished it so I wouldn't have played it till the end anyway.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

FarCry when it in released was the the most visually beautiful game I'd seen. The beaches, the water, the green color of the plants was just incredible. Far cry 2 had long travel times, and the story was a let down, although the stealth based game play was quite enjoyable. Let's see what FarCry 3 has to offer. The short gameplay trailer with commentary seemed very interesting though.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

^ And the best thing of far cry was that I could play it on my P4 / onboard ATI x200 chipset :P

OT: Do you guys ever happen to recall that episode on Gamer.TV (which was aired in TEN Sports back then) wherein they happened to showcase Farcry? I used to sit and drool over that episode. :P

Gawd it used to be so awesome. I had a 9600Pro back then which couldn't handle Farcry properly at med. settings. Then, later switched to 7900GT which was luckily able to manage the game with decent frames.
Aaah Gamer TV. Used to love that show. Really miss it.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

ahh gamer tv, I also used to love watching it back then. But they used to hype crap games so much. I remember they hyped Juiced so much back then. When I played it, it was like wtf!!??

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

far cry 2 had yellow tint which created dull look, latest fc3 images r cool, dying for release of the game gameplay is good, best jungle created yet.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

In short, FC2 was shit :P Waiting for this to be EPIC, and if it's half a game that FC1 was, it'll be!

What stands out about Far Cry 3, though, isn't the sudden savagery of the violence, but how it contrasts with the lush greenery and beautiful vistas that characterise the islands. Far Cry 3's landscapes look undeniably amazing, both in the official trailers and in the demonstrations that Ubisoft showed us. For example, you'll find low mists and water haze around complex environments, such as the base of a waterfall. At first we were suspicious that this fog was masking technical limitations that Ubisoft didn't want us to see, but then the clouds were blown back and a massive valley unfolded before us.

In a step that moves Far Cry 3 yet further away from the series' starting point, Ubisoft has also now dropped an RPG system into the game. It was integrated with an alarming lack of subtlety in the version of the game we saw, however; after every successful kill a giant '+10' or '+20' would appear on screen, brashly proclaiming your gradual advancement.

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

Dont think so! If they can maintain what Far Cry 2 had accomplished with every minor flaw of fc2 patched, this could be a real gem of a game.!
P.S. I loved Far cry2 inspite of its poor Ai, respawning camps, long driving distances(no other game has given me the true sense of being a lonely assassin in a forest)

Re: Farcry 3 - Discussion Thread

I really liked FC 2 and there were some parts I didnt like, like the checkpoints and stuff. But to be fair to the game, the graphics were really good and the settings were great. The map was quite big as well.
