Favorites on Indian TV

Hi guys

Was watching TV the other day and realized that there's very little to watch on Indian Television despite there being so many channels. So came here looking for recommendations. A thread to discuss your favorites on Indian Television.

Favorite news channel: CNN-IBN
Favorite shows: News (obviously) and Now Showing (Love Rajeev Masand's reviews)

Favorite entertainment channel: BBC Entertainment, Star World
Favorite shows: Seinfeld, The Office, Hustle, Coupling and Fawlty Towers (though I see most of these on Comp after downloading coz of the advertisements)

Favorite movie channel: None (Only watch movies on comp after downloading coz lose interest in TV movies due to adverts and censorship)

Favorite "other" channel: Discovery and History

Favorite Hindi/Regional Channel: Don't watch any Hindi programing coz most of them now seem really amateurish. The problem is not with the language. Its with the content and production values.
 
I stopped watching TV long back. and spend that time .in front of my PC..

watch TV once i a while...

maybe some Man U or any other football match..

discovery or NatGeo channel..

for news i like CNN IBN ..i like rajdeep sardesai's voice ..

but stopped watchin news also cause of too many advertisements and unnecessary drama ..

and yeah dont mind Channel V or Mtv once in a while ..
 
I hardly get anytime to watch tv..if not at work, the rest of the time is spent in front of my pc or sleeping..:lol: And though i have a tv tuner card in my pc, i spend my time on internet instead..:P

So thr are no favorites here..i just browse thru some channels in the evening for 1/2 hour or so, before Mom hijacks the remote for the daily dose of indian soap operas..:P

For Music : VH1

For EPL matches and sports news : ESPN-Star

For UCL matches - Ten Sports

And occasionally Discovery and National Geographic for Extreme engineering, extreme machines, megastructures and Air crash investigations..

I hate to watch movies on TV..for tht, i prefer torrents instead..:P
 
Start Sports, ESPN: For cricket, football, F1 and tennis matches

CNN IBN: For news and "Tech2.com" programme

Discovery Travel and Living: All shows are rocking

Disney Channel: That's so raven, The suite life of jack and cody, lizzie mcguire etc.

HBO, Star Movies: English Movies

Star World: Random shows

Sab TV: For some daily hindi soaps
 
On Weekdays:

Morning: CNBC TV18

Evenings: Champions League/EPL/SPL/Championship/League1/Ligue1/Serie A/Premiera Liga/SuperLiga Highlights or Matches :D :P.

Weekends:

Evenings: EPL/SPL/Ligue1/Premiera Liga matches :D.

oh, i used to watch it. used to come at 11:30 p.m. then they shifted it to 12:00 a.m. then 12:30 a.m. and now i don't think it's aired. Everything is so badly censored here, even the kissing scenes in movies are removed, most of the time the movie watching experience is crapped bcoz of these cuts.
 
Stopped watching tv 1 yr back. :)

when i was watching tv the only serials i watched were Orange County Choppers and some car modding and a home re-designing serial on Discovery Travel and Living and some engineering etc show on Discovery and NGC.
