Hi
I have some stuff of an AT system just lying around. It's pretty much junk as far as I'm concerned, but maybe someone has a use for it. It's free, but I'm only entertaining pickups. Udit's post on this board reminded me that I was about to throw them in the gutter. They are almost all working though, and the surplus could help somebody missing that one part or piece.
1. CPU - Celeron 700 MHz, without cooler. Not sure, but I don't think this thing works. Can make a good keychain or wall ornament. Gone.
2. RAM - 64MB (I think, could be 128, don't really know without referring to it and it's dumped around somewhere I really am not sure about) Gone.
3. Two motherboards of 810 chipset. Udit already has first dibs on these, I'm taking them down to Cal in March if he wants. He needs one, so if you want one you can pick it up after I'm back.
4. Baby AT case with removable tray, and all bits and cables to connect one board to the outside world. Gone!
5. AT power supply - 230 watts. This thing defintiely works properly. Gone!
6. 40GB Seagate hard disk. It spins up, but for some strange reason, has become password locked. I don't have the energy to go around trying to get it fixed, I tried unlocking through all sorts of software techniques, but it needs an expert. Gone

7. 5 pieces of 3" satellite speaker drivers, in perfect working condition. These are pulled from a set of 5.1 speakers I have upgraded with new Peerless drivers. If your satellites are busted, these will make good replacements. Or could be used to assemble a full set of 5.1 speakers. Gone.
8. 2 8" poly-coned Bolton woofer drivers. Please take them off my hands. Paired with the above, some cheap cabinets, and an amp, could make a nice set of 5.1 that sounds pretty expensive. Gone with the wind!!
9. A codegen (yuck!) 400 watt (yeah, right!) ATX PSU. This thing actually powers a 6800GT and a couple of hard disks fine, so not much wrong with it. Gone.
10. Nothing for sale, just makes it look a little better if there are 10 things on a list!
All the stuff is on as-is-where is basis. Need to be picked up. I am sorry, but I will ignore completely any requests to ship them anywhere. I live in Bandra, so the best thing is to come and pick them up. Also no warranty, tested or otherwise, and no dibs. This is a junkyard, whoever lands up first gets the stuff. Make the most of the long weekend, guys!
I am also putting up a sale thread for some really good hardware, all at throwaway prices, pretty soon. Look out for that over the weekend or Monday.

Give me your address. I am travelling along that route friday sat and sunday.

Guys,

This is on first-come first serve basis. Get my phone numbers on PM, call me and take an appointment. As you will see, most of you are interested in roughly the same stuff, so those in early get the best stuff. Best to call before you leave so you don't waste any time. I will be available on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is OK, but would like to take time off.

Two points:

@shotgun: If you're assembling a 5.1 for someone, try out the Peerless drivers. They set you back 1600 bucks, and are worth every penny. Absolutely amazing drivers, I'm actually thinking of retiring my MX5021, once I get a good sub and amp to integrate with this set. Superb imaging and a very full, maty sound, not as dry as the MX5021. You may get more people asking for a set once they hear the first one. You're of course welcome to the free ones, which are a little cheaper, but still sound pretty good.

@deadevil: The mobos will be back in March, as Udit has confirmed he wants at least one. The one way out is that you bring me a known working CPU and SDRAM memory, and we check out both the boards. If both work, you can pick up one instantly. I don't want to renege on my commitment to him. I'm sure you understand.

Looking good guys, no one want that stick of memory? Or a cool keychain?

I really Need codegen 400w psu as I have to test whether my existing one is Crapped (shutdown PC randomly) due to Low Wattage. It's not economical if exiting one is OK and still I buy New one to see if OLD one is real culprit or not.

I am from Borivali.

PM me and today I will visit you.

PS: stormblast if you didn't have any problem with your PSU, please give me chance.

Guys,

There are no dibs on this because it's not a sale. Who lands up first picks it up and goes.

So, I've PM'ed both of you my number and details. Sort it out between yourselves so we can keep it clean. Thanks.

Hi

Due to the tremendous response, I've kind of forgotten who wanted what - but those who land up early get what they want from this list, no limits.

Please don't sell them at a profit (anything above zero will be a profit), as that is against the spirit of the thread and the giveaway.

If any of you need contact details, PM or post here, including if I haven't sent you the details and you've asked/posted/PM'ed earlier.

I guess there will be not much left after tomorrow evening.

I PM'd to stormblast, now it's depend on him, as he Reply first. If he liked to pass on to me I'm at your Place by today or tomorrow eve.

@stick
Its first go first take...just coz stormy posted here doesnt mean anything in this case as the seller/giver has already mentioned its who reaches his place first that wins the prize...Rush and win the race...get set go..........

This thread is Unique and it may be the first on TE, good job Sangram in distributing freebies to fellow forum members.... :hap2:

im interested in No.8 item in ur list. kindly give more details like specs & pics if possible, PM me the price and also which brands are they .

^^^ Huh??? ^^^

I've covered all your questions if you read the details.

Price: Free

Brand: Bolton

Size: 8"

Model: Do they ever have a model no. that means anything? They are 20FW22, if that helps. 50 watts, 8 ohms.

BTW guys, a quick update. There is going to be some stuff left over till the end of Sunday, then my sweeper gets it. I'm not joking. Some guys have already come and picked up their stuff, if you want anything now is the time.

Hi sorry, those are gone too...

-------
All that's left is the baby AT case and the AT supply. No one have an old system they want to resurrect?

Or a pet that needs an innovative home that resembles their master's hobby?

Actually, scratch that - they will probably bleed to death if they get cut by the case...

Last thing.

Guys who've picked up stuff, do let me know on the PM or this thread, whether this stuff helped you or not, and what worked and what didn't. Deep, Deepak and Aquino, PM me.

I may do this thing again later, for Kolkata guys in March. I think there's a ATX case and some other stuff, keyboard and mouse, that sort of stuff that some peeps can use. I will get rid of a ton of stuff in one weekend then too.
