Galvanizer
I went to Shirdi last Sat. Saw a convoy of FIAT palios + some Lineas + a small car (all symbols etc removed on the small car and marked with small black squares all over to create an optical illusion and hide the actual look).

Saw the Linea again today being tested here in Pune. Managed to get off a pic before he drove off :P

As per FIAT India website, production has started and its expected to be launched soon.

Fiat India

Looks seem decent. I liked the look of the front grill in person. Seems a bit like the Maserati grill (IMO of course :P)

Nice work man!!:ohyeah: nice car indeed!:)

but i'm really looking forward to Punto or Bravo - Fiat India

My dad is determined to get me a i20!!:S i wonder when will these be introduced in India!!:S :(

nice work techie.. its a very good piece of machinery..

oh n sohail, try to get your hands on a Fiat 500.. the car is small, but all-out performance..

Fiat Linea is ready for sales and TDs at some dealers.
It's damn good car, esp the fit and finish, build quality.

Only problem is the lousy A S S provided by idiots called TATA A S C.

Fiat needs to get its act together and improve the A S S.

There is a full page ad of the Linea on The Hindu today. Looks pretty good. But Fiat need to push its marketing aggressively if they are looking to make any sort of impact on the already crowded market.

Earlier, the ASS was by TVS and it was really pathetic. (may be in the south only) Is the situation same with TATA too? (priority being for their own vehicles?)

Bravo is a CBU and is going to be very expensive. Grande Punto is under testing and will be launched next.Price is expected to be in the range of 5-6L. This is one hatch to look out for.It will feature the same 1.3L Multijet engine featured in Vista,Swift,Linea etc. It is yet to be seen whether FIAT launches the Punto with VGT or FGT version of the 1.3L MJD.

Nice man!! i'll buy punto or bravo even if its priced around 9L!!:ohyeah:

Its just that i'm kinda hatchback enthusiast!:ohyeah:

You would want to rethink your decision of considering the Bravo. It is going to be priced in the range 17L +

Still interested ?

Oh and btw, Bravo comes with the 1.9L version of MJD and is equipped with a VGT and puts out 150 BHp :D

Even I am looking forward to Punto release :) Hoping Fiat service and support will become much better by the time Punto is released :)

Here is the scanned image of the Linea ad that cam yesterday in The Tribune :P

17L+ is the imported one!! when they start production of Bravo in India, it'll cost 1/2 the current price!! :ohyeah:

@sohail: They ll never get enough numbers to start producing it locally.

Forgot to update yesterday. Theres a Tata dealership closeby (near to where I spotted it actually) Went there yday morning. They had 2 cars standing there available for TDs. and the guy said they were starting sales from 15th only.

Looks/build quality seems quite good. They didnt have final on-road pricing, but expected: petrol starting 7.4 and diesel starting 7.8.

The guy also confirmed Grande Punto is under test (I had anyway seen them under test o nthe highway already :P) and expect a launch in April. Fiat Grande Punto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bravo will always remain a niche product and will be CBU.I don't think they have plans to make it locally.

Yay!!! been waiting for Punto for like a year or so!! finally its expected in April!!

Yay! i'll get it as soon as its sales start!:hap5:

however, Bravo is still a nice option!:) but i guess 17L price is not justified!

Linea prices are available on the Fiat Site...seems to be very aggressively priced esp. for the base petrol and Diesel variants

I hope they can repeat the same pricing strategy for the Bravo too

FIAT is already selling Fiat 500 (read hatchback) at whopping 14-15 Lakh price tag. Though customers are too less, but still 2-3 niche customers buy them.

Cheers

Linea has been on display for a few days now in TATA/FIAT dealerships...

Looked really nice, has an upmarket feel but the interiors seemed a lil cramped..dunno if it was an illusion caused by the interior colour theme.

Nevertheless,ADMIRATION GUARANTEED !
