FIFA 08 Vs PES 08

All those playing next-gen FIFA 08, have you tried changing the settings to manual pass/manual through ball? The assisted passes feature is supposed to make it too easy. Any comments on FIFA 08 by someone who has actually played it? [XboX 360/PS3].
 
tbh FIFA 08 has some stuff to it... its not that bad overall in gameplay but then graphics suck same old "arcade" graphics.... but in gameplay shooting from outside is not possible all the time its non existant in fact... and the manual through ball and manual cross add more steel to the game makes it harder.. PLUS the AI is way better if you want to play against the PC and even in multiplayer the keeper is fcuking awesome not easy to score goals against the keeper ( ohh... and u can set keeper difficulty level seprately )

you guys keep talking about the new addition in fifa which is the manual through ball & manual cross, but yall seem to forget that its been there in pes since pes3. cant remember pes2 on ps1 but i think it just might have been there on that too. all fifa does every year is keep adding 1 stupid addition thats been in pes since 3-4 years. 1 or 2 additions for a new game every year is not enough.

True. But I feel PES hasn't been making any major new changes either. It still doesn't have true analog controls. Can you point out one major new feature PES 2008 has over and above PES 6?

:p Just playing Devil's advocate here. I have WE8,PES5,PES6, PES 2008 Demo installed on my PC right now. The last FIFA I thought worth playing was FIFA 2003. I want FIFA to catch up so that both companies actually have to start putting out major updates every year.

But... Seabass has just stated that he plans a major overhaul for PES 2009. Read interview, :D

well i dunno what to say, if you cant notice the difference from pes 3 , 4, 5 & 6 i dont know what you are on. the whole gameplay has always been changed in pes whenever a newer version comes. i am sure everyone here will agree with me.

i remember i started playing winning eleven on PS1 then one of my friend showed me PES 3 on the PS2 and i got hooked on to it like a crazy fish been a fan of this series for a long time

yupp stormy totally agree a huge change was noticed between PES4 and PES5
damn AI got smarter and the ball control was more accurate although there was not a huge change between PES5 and PES6
 
I bet most of u never played all both games...

PEs was much better .. lat year fifa was close but not enough to bea t pes.. I startyed havin my doubts about pes when I discovered that I havent' digged fifa enough. Its ha sso many things that I didn't know because I never really palyed it.

as most of these guys in Here...

So if u want my opinion.. fifa this year is the game us hould spend ur money on.. REally grafix.. no question..
The Ai is reaaaaalllyy improved. More options tactical plays set plays .. and goals that remind me of highlight after a premier league day..

I asked a friend whosz a fifa fan and believe me.. there are soooo many cobinations u can do it really makes u dizzy.. and the correct pass to do.. f.e.
(on the keyboard)
S is the pass.. Q+S pass and move double A fast low cross.. Q+A early cross power alwasys matters to get to your player.. Q+W lob pass...

fake shots dribling.. ans some othe ptions and things that on pes dont' even Exist...
ttactics change on the move with the num pad..Q+numpad numbers triggers defensive play.

Sorry guys.. I'm not so fanatic. This year I'm changing to fifa...

again the features & the so called new combinations you mention have been there in pes since ps1 days. so you really dont know what you are talking about.

arre u got it wrong the manual crossing and manual through ball is the real one... not in the PES way where you give the manual power ( that was in 07 too ) but this time its directions too... which PES don't have (now don't start to argue about that :p) if you want to see it then try giving through ball from your full back to the wide striker with the directions towards the line and do it in both 08 and PES ( any version ) you will see the difference there....
and same is the case in crossing.... in crossing PES had manual crossing option i agree on that but FIFA never had it.

and @pavcon the combinations u are talking about have been there since FIFA 06 and some since FIFA 05 :p

it seems like you too havent ever played pes with a analog controller? the feature you just mentioned is there since pes3. the same exact thing u just mentioned.

anyways whatever be the point. we are going off topic. clearly the best sim is pes & i think vij is going to buy or play pes from now onwards. heh

Well, if you say that, I am sure there was a similar improvement in editions of FIFA series. I was talking about when you said that FIFA has one or two changes and brings out a new game. I think PES does that too. I really wanted true analog controls this year. The only totally new feature in PES 2008 over PES 6 is Diving. Everything else is just an improvement over what is already there.

Basically,

PES 2008 > FIFA 08

BUT

Improvement(PES 6 -> PES 2008) < Improvement(FIFA 07 -> FIFA 08)
 
I am playing PES for the 1st time..

How do i change controls...??

how do i use those right clicks other keys which are only on Joystick/Game Controller....?
 
whatever the case is fifa is more football. I playu football myself and I know how it really is.

me in support of pavcon.
its not that easy to score goals in fifa 08. getting damn frustrated. at the Professional difficulty set. for the game and the goal keeper. you really have to create a goal either by gameplay or some brilliance by a player. the CPU defence is just too strong.

i get very frustrated but still play it.

One question i have??
is playing with a analog controller better than keyboard?
 
Analog sticks are way better. You can use the thumb to control all player movements never having to lift a finger > much better gameplay.
While with arrow keys, you have to keep tapping a different key for each direction.
