Graphic Cards Finally,My 8600GT arrives

dear friends,
I finally got my 8600Gt from d us for a decent price(rs.3900:D )..and its perfect:hap2: ! i still have 2 update drivers..i was wonderin wheter nvidea also had those catalyst drivers provided by ATI..

now the queries :
1.i got no extra cooling fans with d cabinet..so im worried about the temperature inside..could u tell me some applications which helps me check the temperature..

and some general information on saftey tips would be greatly appreciated..

hey dude great that you got your card.. can i ask one thing... u said it got it from US right? How did you get it? did you order it or did someone bring it for you? If you ordered it could you tell me how much customs you paid...ok well you need to get a couple of case fans... and Nvidia's drivers are called forceware... ATI catalyst won't work with Nvidia obviously... download the latest drivers and a program called NVtray and set the menus to classical view.. then go to the properties for your card and there will be a heading called Temperature.. this will show your GPU temp.. also there is ATI tools which will also show the temp...
 
Im not gonna overclock it as of now..and my config is
1.intel core 2 duo e 4400
2.intel dg965ry mobo
3.160gb hdd
4.1gb ram
5.400 watt psu with zebronics cabinet..
no extra fans though

as for the graphic card,my frnd got it from d us.

put in atleast one 120mm fan at the rear for exhaust........googlefor NVTempLogger or RivaTuner to monitor temp
 
I have a noobish query:)
i was playing lost planet and after i quit the game,i opened task manager and saw that cpu usage was 100% !..i was like wtf..doesnt it depend upon the gpu?
and i downloaded ntune as one of u said ..but it says i need a force 2 or force 3 motherboard to operate.. im worried abt the temperature inside.:detect:

forget ocing mate

u need better mobo if u wanna oc procy

and if u wanna monitor temprature then u can use something like speedfan or cpu cool for that
 
ok guys i downloaded NVtemplogger and it showed 49c at idle and 68c at load...hope that's good enough...

and could u clarify my doubt about that 100%cpu usage in my previous post..

^ many games have started using CPU too. GPU is only for graphics.. what about the rest? ;)

Prostreet too uses the cpu a lot.
 
nope,i got d xfx 8600Gt 256 mb, and d same thing happened with virtua tennis 3..i played n quit d game..cpu usage and it showed 100%..den wats d purpose of gpu?:@ ..is der smthg wrong? dis is a brand new graphic card...

help me out wid dis guys

dude game doesnt depend only on graphics card....it needs cpu too to work simulataneouly....
gpu only handles graphics portion.......texture renderin n all...
instruction decodin n other things r done by cpu...
even RAM plays role.....
so as a whole its whole PC workin together.......not just that u got gud
graphic card means that ur cpu can be at 1% utilization..:)
n u got e4400 too which is very good proccy..
also games now are build to use only single core cpus not multi-core cpu utilization(correct me if m wrng)
 
disable intel speed step at bios try you udapte intel chipest driver form website and check for registry problem if corrupt then why can your repair :P

How to fix Corrupted files in XP

1-insert ur XP CD into CDROM

2-type in 'sfc /scannow' (without the ')

or also update dual core optian patch form microsoft website
