^ yes of course.. My friend (Sudarshan_SMD on TE) is using the same plan and I'm using 2mbps plan. He's getting lower ping than me on each server by 10-30ms. You can enjoy TF2 on 256kbps internet connection also. TF2 uses 30-40Mb bandwidth per hour. That means maximum it'll download @ 15kbps. So it's fine to play TF2 on 256kbps..

Hey man, try pinging "202.156.3.176" via command prompt. Or, if you've installed Steam, go to Servers, and add this as a a favourite, and check the latency

^ That depends.. Some Russian servers never kick you out until they found you're lagging so much like ~400ms. But some servers bans even if you cross 300ms.

If you don't get good pings, then try to play on servers having less than ~300ms. Otherwise you'll get ~120ms for Singapore servers here :)
 
Add all you guys!! Okay, I have a problem with Orange Box...

I'm unable to install Half Life 2 from the DVD(it starts downloading from the internet, a 1.1GB download, and it's not update, it's the ENTIRE GAME)....

I can install HL2 Episode 2, Portal and TF2 directly from the DVD with only updates required. I havn't tried EP1, but HL2 is like this... is it supposed to be like this? I thought the game was in the DISK itself!!!!
 
^^ I used the DVDs for installation only once.... Internet is much more convenient as as its the latest version with no updates required....
