Most of the current flagships have been a disappointment if you own a previous generation flagship. S5 has hardly much over S4, same with Z1 and Z2 and LG G2 and the rumored G3.

There is no application/game even remotely close to maxing out the power of the Snapdragon 800, whats the point of the 801?

The point is there are people who have more money or more hungry to update to the latest. See the s5 sales figure, what the hell, people still buy it. For me, I upgraded from HTC one x to LG g2 recently and I'm selling my iPhone 4s and get the iPhone 6 or whatever they call it.

Way overpriced and i wonder if it even includes the magnetic charging dock. Doubtful since they list it as an optional accessory :banghead:

They offer a free smart band though.

I would like to know what the price is without any of their offers and just the charging dock. The idiots don't allow that though.

Some games will produce frame drops on all those 1080p screens. Still playable but frame drops will be noticeable.

Try the t-rex benchmark with gfx bench.

Less probs with Z1c which has a 20% faster frame render rate than any 1080p current flagship, just a shade lower than the 5s in gaming performance.

As an aside 801 is more energy efficient than 800, so little longer battery life.

^ Well, in these phones' defense, they do bring in a lot more on board than the leeching apple corp.
Bigger and better display, newer chipsets, memory slots, constantly looking up ways to change looks with different materials etc. Besides, components generally dont cost a bomb either, nor do they change things like chargers on a whim.
So one can state that the non apple companies are putting in the effort, whereas apple still maintains the old chasis and concentrates on the 'experience'. (which they still managed to botch up royally with maps or the latest OS of theirs)

It will be interesting to see how much apple can do to keep the prices in check with the all new sapphire screen.
 
Half a lakh for an smartphone. Woo.. Even with the Free band with Z2 the price shouldn't cross 45k.
I am hoping the pricing will go down to 42-43k after an month.

Makes me wonder if that smart band really is free or just discounted. They include a lot of obligatory gifts that i have zero interest in. The boxes in Uk & HK include the dock & the noise cancelling earphones which are much better value.

Of course those are extra to buy in india.
 
Sony will be definitely reducing price to compete with S5 i am guessing. AFAIK Htc one M8 price won't be reduced any further.
 
When the note 3 came out it was importing closer to the 25k mark, it had 3Gb RAM and an expensive 5.7" amoled. I could understand the note debuting around the 50k mark, its dropped since. FK has it for 42k just 3 or so months later. And the import price reflects it.
 
Guys the best thing that change is like companies introducing oneplus one, gionee, xoimoi like smartphones... But that's not available now but soon.
Amazing hardware, amazing design and at amazing price.
This thing will surely come to 40k mark within 60 days for sure.
 
Gionee, Xiaomi, Oppo, 1 plus could bring some price war if they launch in India. 1 plus one is killer. though Gionee is there here.. somehow it didn't impress many.

People nowadays spend 30~40k on phones without much thought.
 
Some do, the majority sticks to feature < 5k phones. Try convincing them to shell out 5x or 10x more :D

Feature phones are the most reliable devices you can ever get.

Good battery life, cheap, you don't care if the screen gets scratched, you don't care if you drop it. repairable in a tier 4 village. replaceable battery. microsd card. Reception is good. Don't overheat. performs just one function and does it very well.

I remember the time when Nokia 6600 symbian phone had come and I think it cost 26000 when introduced. I was like 26K for a phone. That is insane.
