Wait for Win 7 Ultimate wid SP1 ISO digitalriver links to come out... :)... Coz installing SP1 through windows update really messes things up...
 
i downloaded sp1 installed it on x64, but got issues with USB devices, removed usb root hubs and restarted.. issue fixed,

now im downloading the win 7 ultimate x64 with sp1 from MSDN, 10 more % to go

this evening sp1 download was like 65mb, but......
after that it took a looooong time to install :(
(during the usual restart after download)
did you face the same issue??
 
i am right now installing sp1 on my lappy whose usual size was 130.6 mb. But i am sure its going to take a lot of time to restart machine after booting.

Also i wanted to ask is, the windows 7 on my desktop is not validated, but i am downloading the iso file which is provided my microsoft by using the genuine validation of my laptop. Will it work for my desktop os(windows 7 64-bit)

Thats great to hear... but some ppl are facing problem who are trying to install SP1 VIA WU...

was able to install it smoothy but downloaded it from microsoft site and so it was not an windows update installation , say direct download it and install it :P

i want to try it on my desktop which has a cr@@@ed windows 7 professional 64bit. i havent loaded any of the updates from WU. does any know how to install sp1 on a p!r@TeP os?
 
Got the update (64 bit professional) using windows update (around 85 MB only), it took approx 20 - 25 min 2 restart and done with success.

Initial impression is that its taking 2-3 sec more to shows user name post boot. I also observed that time taken to show the desktop after I enter my pwd is increased a bit. It coule be very specific but these are first thing I noticed.
 
Damn, still getting the error after the hotfix via WU.. :|

Windows downloaded the update to my C:/ Drive and failed to install them about 4 times in a row, can anyone tell me where to locate the update files so that i can delete them? :|
