My family's moving to a new house soon. Instead of taking all our household electronics and appliances with us, we are just selling the old ones and buying new stuff. First thing that has to go is our old and bulky CRT TV. We were thinking of getting something state of the art such as a smart TV or 3D TV, or any new TV will last us a long time. What kind of TV's should we start looking into?

Welcome to TE Mehra .... as stated by @gREen .... please state your budget.

Also mention whether you have any collection of Movies (DVD's; Blu-ray's; High-Def 1080p files etc); HD-Media Player or HTPC etc. LED is the way to go (and not LCD or Plasma ..... because the best models by Panasonic are never launched in India). LG indeed does have some of the most reasonably priced sets in the market (you can bargain well below the MRP from any LG-Shoppe). Is your CRT a 29" .... exchange it.

Check out Independence Day offers in your city.

Do not splurge over a 3D set (unless you have access to a library of content).

Cheers
