Slightly OT - An avid FF user here, but wanted to ask if its just me or is FF becoming a real memory hog of late?

FF 3 has improved a lot on FF2.. much better then IE.. And the RC has a much lower memory use then FF2.. Can't wait.. :hap2:

Ya, I didnt "notice" any speed/memory improvements of FF3 over FF2, but I like it anyway for the other small changes/improvements here n there... it's more like "FF 2.1" to me, but I guess all software projects these days like to bump their version numbers a lot for marketing purposes :D

wonder why you guys are not finding any improvements :|

For me FF3 is lot more stable, quicker. Earlier with about 10-12 tabs open, it used to eat 50% cpu. now CPU utilization is around 10-12%.

but Maybe you should try other browsers if FF does not work for you

^^ +1. FF 3 is a big improvement for me! And any page with javascript loads considerably faster now. Not to mention faster rendering.

heh, maybe those of us who dont notice any improvement should run FF2 and 3 side by side and compare... now i do recall that FF2 used to freeze for a few seconds if i open many pages in multiple tabs at the same time, but that was on my old single core P4, it was running fine anyway on my new q6600
