A: Bar

3. Q: Preferred display type?

A: TFT (AMOLED is possible in that budget)

4. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.

A: Do not prefer HTC,LG.
5. Q: Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?

A: Touchscreen

6. Q: Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.

A: Front and back camera required.

7. Q: Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).

A: Android

10. Q: Any other requirements?

A: Looking for Crip and clear display. The phone should have good Dev support and custom ROM support (Cyanogen etc).
11. Q: If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.

A: Dell XCD35 / ZTE Blade , Motorola Defy/Defy + .
I have been using Nokia E71 for 2.5 years now like to give myself an upgrade

( because my sis got Galaxy Note, damm that thing is huge
<
).

Almost ended-up with buying iPhone 4S. But didn't.
What i want / I do

> crisp , clear and bigger screen.

> The phone is for using apps and Internet.

> Phone should have excellent Dev community support / love.
What i don't do

> Won't be watching videos. (have a iPad for that)

> Not as a primary device for Music (have Sansa Clip +)

Thanks. Any pointers on custom ROM . Yes, willing to sacrifice front cam for Dev support.

If you want to stick to ~15k budget, SE Neo V should be considered... If u can wait, wait for Galaxy S Advance which is replacing Galaxy R, should land here for ~ 20k ...

IMO the pricing of Samsung Galaxy S Advance at lunch might be any where near 23K.

for 20K it's a steal for the price.

If you want you can wait for S Advance but its going to be a wait for 2-3 months at the least for it to be launched & the price to come within your budget.

Dev support for defy is very good but the same for defy+ is pretty low.

From a personal experience Galaxy R has gone from no dev support to pretty fine support but it took time.

So better decide if you wanna wait for S Advance or you wanna buy Galaxy R / Defy / Neo V.

points

+ points for Galaxy R:

* Good & Bright Screen, not an AMOLED but has natural feel to the colours.

* Future ICS support.

* Good games support because it has Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset. GTA III supports this model.

* Lag free OS.

* Cam quality better than the rest and has Flash.

* Dev support increasing.

- points for Galaxy R:

* Can't play very high quality 1080HD videos with high bit rate though 1080HD videos with normal but rate can be played using DICE player.

* Cam is 5MP, for some its a priority top have a high Mega pixel cam so check your requirements.

Keep us updated here on what you buy !

Hope it helps.
