Hi friends,

I heard a mobile technician once insist that first charge of a new mobile is important. He advised that the battery be charged fully and then drained fully and again charged fully.

Is this really important? I understand that draining the battery and charging it to its max for a few times increases its longevity. True?
 
Wasnt that true with only old tech (nickel cadmium if I remember correctly) batteries which had memory effect.

True, for lithium-ion batteries this is not required.
