deep, the GT isn't beating the GTX or the Ultra. At most, it's performance is close to a GTS 640MB. Check XS for some real reviews.

@stalker, the card will retail at $250 or lesser... you'll see in a few days - doesn't make sense buying a GTS or 2900pro now :)

i c no reason wht d card will not b faster dan 8800gts 640 mb..for starters it has 16 shader units more dan d gts also clocked abt 100mhz higher dan d gts albiet has 128 bit bus less dan d GTS.

n surely 250$ not possible at launch..may b 1 month later.

RiO has set me drooling for the 8800GT now , Thank god i was cash strapped a month ago or i would have bought the 2900 pro by now :P

Comeon guys, is it asking too much to type out "the", "and", "for", etc. Don't want to act like a grammer nazi here, but sometimes it really is a pain reading sms lingo.

lets wait and watch shall we? ;)

Also I am getting this card for testing as soon as 1st batch lands in India( hopefully 512MB version ). Will let you know some hard numbers if it reaches in my hand before 1st november. Or it will have to be after 8 as i am out of town from 1-8nov.

hopefully by the 1st u gv me the review rt here FUNKY

8800GT 512MB in stock at ClubIT for $230, lower than expected launch prices. Bear in mind the GTS cards will also get a refresh soon, and while the 8800GT is faster than the current GTS, it will not be for long ;)

I hang out on forums and I see a lot of fakes and can spot them a mile off. Faked is when people add numbers/buttons/features to old models and then pass them off as new.

There was nothing added to these photos. They were poor quality, with cranked contrast, but there was nothing fake about them. They looked legit and are legit.

Someone took a GTX and removed the "X". Its obvious because they were dumb enough to leave the 768mb of ram.

Look, I honestly don't care. The photos looked faked because they were modified a lot. All I asked for was for some real pictures with other things in the background eg: pictures of the cards on a table / in a computer / in someone's hand. Now we have some so its easy to say they were real now.

But come on, you want to say nothing was faked? Thats just ignorant.

The above is one I just put together, what looks real... Tom's with its blurry text and crystal clear very bright "G92" or the newer Expert one? Funny enough if you overlay them in Photoshop they line up almost perfectly even though the chip themselves is at an angle in Tom's shot...

Also this one

Looks very fake because of the high contrast in the black and white section, there is no extra light that should be shown on the reflective surface of the heatsink.

Notice how dull it appears compared to the white CD sleeve here?

Anyway, enough is enough, there was plenty of reason to doubt the leaks, like I've been saying, take everything you hear with a grain of salt...
