Five point someone
- by Chetan Bhagat

Well a really good story. The story is about three guys Hari, Alok and Ryan, who get into IIT and mess things up. Well the story is so nice that i bought the book, which is a rarity. This book is the second book by the authour. His other book one night @ call centre is also good(so i heard). The book describes about the grade system in IIT and lots of things.....;) .
So has anyone read the book. And I would like some IITian(x86):D to comment on it and the relevance to the real IIT.:hap2:

^^ Actually FPS is the First Book by Chetan Bhagat..i read it 2 sems back.
One night @ Call centre was the more recent one and its quite a downer compared to FPS.
FPS was fun btw ;)

p.s: X86?..IIT? :P

iit campus doesnt mean IITian or thats wat nikhil said.:P

yep.FPS is one awesome book.surely the most fun book i've read till now.

guys,

x86 is studying in a school which happens to be INSIDE the IIT campus... he is not studying in IIT

And anyway, this book, I read it almost 1 and a half years back. Really good.

But from what I heard from some TRUE IITians, it is exaggerated like hell.... Chetan Bhagat goes completely overboard in the book.

It is a good book and is awesome timepass but one of my best friends' brother was in IIT and he said it was simply too much. Especially the things that happen between Neha and Hari. And the breaking into the HOD's office and all....... And according to him, the teachers in IIT are not all that bad as Chetan Bhagat has said.

But yeah, this was better than One night at the call centre...

ONATCC was crap.

^^^My sister, who is in the IIT says that the book is completely exaggerated.Think guys, the story would be good in any school/college u put except for some minor details.

The most funny thing is,the guy jumps frm a 9 floor building and lands in a fountain on his buttocks AND survives. How cool is that!

eggjhactly!!! Almost impossible to survive!!! The fountain would have to be 10 feet deep:P And if he falls on his buttocks, how does he break his legs :P And if he did fall on his buttocks, his back would be a goner.

Happened to me once. Fell on my butt and broke my back.... Was out for 6 months.

naaah :P I would be paralysed if that happened :P

Was skating and my legs slipped and they went high up front and my butt took the brunt of the fall :P bedrest for 4 weeks.... Was good fun actually. :P

TV(cricket WC 99 was going on) everyday, tons and tons of books to read, dad had just bought a new music system, no school to worry abt. Good times :P

But by the time I could get back to normal, it was 6 months.... this time it's worse..... Wont be back to normalcy until August.... 10 whole months :(

oops didnt know that

well its a bit exaggerated i agree especially the falling from 9th floor and surviving bit :P

nice book ...read it around 5 months back ..exaggerated at times but its still fun .. most people doing engineering face the same things .. lol i too had given a viva after getting drunk .. but i did not get caught .. hehe. and ya all the stuff about dividing the lectures among 3 people is a really good idea .. unfortunately i cant even sit for one lecture so did not put that idea into action .. :D ..overall a very nice book .. had finished reading it in one night as i could not sleep without reading it till the end.

Hmmm, must read these books. Only Indian book I've read (apart from Tinkle and chacha chaudhary :P) is Inscrutible Americans. That was hilarious :D

The book was hilarious. Its being made into a movie now.

And btw the first class where the prof explains about machines and Ryan tells about GYM machines was the most hilarious part in my opinion :ohyeah:

So isnt there any IIT ians here at all

Imagine passed out from IIT-M last year. There might be a couple more soon since the JEE results are expected in some time. Hope they did well instead of spending time on TE :P

Raghu.
