First things first...i didn't know where to put this thread...since it can be also be put in the internet talk section since its a dhcp problem...but it also cud be put in the Application Section since its a Flashget problem...so if u think this cud b better be put in the Internet Talk section...mods plz move this thread to that section..

Now coming to my problem, i was using static IP address given to me by my ISP...but because of frequent disconnection problems...they switched me to DHCP protocol....now the problem is....whenever i try to download any file from the Internet using the Flashget Download Manager...the file doesn't download and instead it gives a "Timeout Error" in its Log tab...I tried uninstalling the Flashget and reinstalled it, went to its options tab and examined whether i need to make any entries in its configuration, also tried its dialup option..configured it to make it dial my ISP's dialer..., went to Flashget's website, checked its forums, but no success...
This problem never occurred when i was using a Static IP.... I now download the files by right clicking it and clicking "Save Link As"(Firefox) or "Save Target as"(IE)

Additionally i m also using Bitdefender...but its not blocking it anyway..i am able browse without any problems...

Is this problem occurring because i m using DHCP....if yes...guys who r using Flashget plz suggest a solution to this problem...as i really cant seem to solve this...:S

Thanx to all in advance...:)

If you are able to download from browser then you should be able to download from Flashget. Essentially they are same.

Re-check settings in both browser and Flashget. They should be same for both flashget & browser.

^ This is what u try to do , download another 3rd party download manager and try and see if it is allowing it to download from that.....infact get this Free Download Manager - absolutely free download accelerator and manager ....if the file gets downloaded fine using this then there is something which is blocking flashget to communicate / connect with external traffic , disable all firewalls / disable all other defender softwares / spyware scanners / adware scanners / disable windows firewall and then check once again with the same......and lastly its got nothing to do with u being on DHCP or on static , just ensure that in flashget u havent specified specific ip to connect to , leave all that to automatic , try the free download manager ...
