Dunno how many of you are cycling fans here, but if you are and watched this years tour de france, here is a shocking news coming.

Floyd Landis has failed the drugs test and has tested positive for testosterone

well after that amazing mountain comeback, never seen before, this would come as a shock to everyone. Dunno why people do it. Just watching him demolish everyone on the last mountain stage and then now we know how he did that.

Btw Latest News confirms that hos team phonak has acknowledged the drug tests being positive.

(I guess atleast there is 1 cycling fan in our TE Doc here!
 
OT: What happened to Jan Ullrich??Which position did he finish in?? /OT

OMG, Will he be stripped of his title??Who came second (<- will this fellow be crowned the new champion??)
 
well his B sample is still to be tested. But the news has been broken by Phonak so its as gooad as confirmed. His only excuse can be his hip pain.

Either way if B sample is +ve his title will be stripped and he would be suspended. Oscar Pereiro will win it. But well Landis got the glory of the podium

LAndis!!! I thought ... I really thought he rode his heart out . DAMN DAMN!!

@ DC - Ullrich got dropped by T-mobile even before the tour started cuz he failed some tests too.

Still a shocker as it seems he is the only guy who has failed the test too.

Kinda feel sorry for sastra now. Imo he rode a super last stage on mountains and yet landis got the credit.

This sure is shocking!! Crazy !!!

But, this time, I sort of lost interest when Jan Ullrich was kicked out of the team.... I really liked him. Even last year, I was supporting him over that Lance Armstrong.....

Have to agree with you there .. But I thought he rode on pure determination.
And Pereiro , a Tour De France winner .. Hmm , I would have prefered a Kloeden or Menchov.

Really topsy turvy tour this year. First Ullrich , Basso get kicked cuz they fail drugs, Vinukorov cudnt participate because of lack of team mates ( really sad, cuz hes one guy who deserves a Tour de france victory), Discovery team crumble , Pereiro gains 30 min on one stage ( all credit to him, but wtf were the sprinters teams and also Phonak doing) , Landis crumbles and then comes back with two stunning rides , now only to have failed the drug test.

Sad. :( :(

i always thought that one stage should have been the turning point of the tour. Landis made it otherwise but anyway the justice has been done finally.
 
Wth!! Very unfortunate news. I thought he rode the stage of his life that day but it was due to this?? Bah what a sad way to lose the title. Not only does he lose the title, he loses all respect. Say if he wins next year(assuming he dosent get banned), whos not gonna say he won coz of drugs. Stupid, stupid move.
 
he anyway has next to no chance next year. He is undergoing a hip replacement surgery in 1 month. This was his last chance.
 
this is really ridiculous.

when you got so much fame and then you end up in grave of disgrace.

he was the person who had angry spats with lance armstrong in us postal which prompted landis to move to team phonak.

OT : the weighlifting federation of india is also banned for one year from any international competition because of doping in commonwealth games.

it seems cycling and weighlifting are the most corrupted sports around. remember team festina banned few years back.
