Hi Guys

I have read a lot about Foobar and its awesome qualities but i am going mad
trying to configure it.

I am not able to understand the head and tail of whats doing what.

I am basically :huh: :S

Can someone please help me in laymans terms plzzzzzzzzzzz. :)

I have downloaded ASIO 4 All uptil now but what does it do.

Read following threads but no help in getting whats mentioned here.

How does one get a interface like this.

What are .fcs files.

Also System Ano. mentioned abt replacing the standard equalizer with ProjectM now whats that :huh:
 
the best thing about foo is also its worst. being fully customizable is also its bane.

.fcs files are presets for columns_ui

you cant replace the standard eq with project m as project m is a visualiser(ike milkdrop in winamp), not equalizer :P If you mean the spectral analyser, i suppose you need to install the concerned plugin. still project M as far as foo 0.9x versions are concerned is buggy and is confirmed to have a memory leak( you'll have to restart foo every now and then)

the links to all these should be there in the wanted plugins port link that you have given ( second one ) the buttons you can get by downloadng the button presets(.fcb files) and importing them by right clicking on the buttons , area and choosing customize, and clicking the tools button
 
Also whats ASIO do.

And where to get "SSRC Resampling Plugin"

whats does libpng13 & zlib1.dll do actually.

Where to put the FCS files

i'm trying my hand on foobar as well..

hopefully i'll be able to post my first foobar screenie soon. :P

Systemic's thread on FunEnclave was really helpful.

still unable to get it working on vista...:(
 
I installed Foobar a couple of days back and half an hour later ran uninstall and shift-deleted the downloaded file - dont want to see it again. Back to Winamp - no hassles installing and setting up and if you say it does not sound as good I dont care as I cannot hear the differences anyway :) .. and Winamp runs fine in Vista.

Oops overlooked this post

1) It allows software to have access to the multi-channel capabilities of the sound cards.

2) i thought u searched hydrogen audio forum. its here (foo_dsp_ssrc)

3)libpng13 and zlib1, png compression and data compression libraries, .fcb files need these libraries....

4) put it newhere on ur HDD doesnt matter cause u have to direct Column UI to the .fcs file by click on Import button in Columns UI> Main

hope this helps :)

btw the faintest guess i could make was .fcs = foobar custom style and .fcb = foobar custom buttons ;)
 
Hey systemic anamoly, would be great if you could post a step by step guide for us foobar noobs, with the most common and useful settings.
 
lol me 2 was a noob, i never paid ne attention to foobar till 2 weeks ago :lol:

the most common according to me might not be suitable for u
i have browsed quite a lot of threads @ hydrogen audio many people like album art, custom buttons and playlist switcher only, if thts the case then something like quickfires setting would be appropriate

otherwise if u want complete customisation u might want to make a list of wat exactly u want because according to the plugins installed a layout can be made :) for example the following foobar image is showing 8 plugins

Album art, projectM, trackinfo, Lyrics panel, Playlist dropdown menu, pretty pop, minifoo, Explorer tree

and also custom buttons, spec analyser, seekbar and playback order :)

so wat do u want ;)

no worries c the screenie :)


btw the # which u have in blackwhithered style is Track sorting in a particular album u can change those 00 by editing the tags of every track in ur playlist { add the track number, album, artist, genre TAGs to ur music files to see the correct display of Album Information}
