didnt know what sort of title to use :P

Anyway, problem is this.

On my previous installation of XP, all my music files were on my D Drive. So, my playlists were linked to D:\something\something\something.

Now, my music files are on E drive.

when I load the playlists, obviously, none of the files are playing because it is looking for the songs in D Drive and they arent there.

Is there any simple way to change all the D:\.... to E:\..... ??

Of course, the obvious solution is to make new playlists...but I am trying to avoid that.

Help will be highly appreciated.

Yes my friend there is a way out.

all the playlists for foobar are stored here.

D:\Documents and Settings\WINDOWSUSERNAME\Application Data\foobar2000\playlists

There you will see a numerous .fpl files those are all ur playlist files.

First backup all the .fpl files.

So all you got to do is open that .fpl files in notepad 1by1

and replace "D:\" with "E:\" since u moved ur songs to E:\

first try with a single .fpl file then the rest.

Simple and thats it done. :hap2:

First of all, I have made sure all my FPL files are stored in my music folder....

anyway, will try what you said :D

EDIT: Tried it...not working..... It says "Unsuported file format or corrupted file"

Ok. Do this.
Save the playlist as an m3u file instead of a fpl file. (There is a Save As.. option in the playlist menu)

Edit the m3u using Vim or Wordpad.

Load the new m3u file again.(There is a Load.. in the playlist menu)

Yup...thank you. It worked.

I was basically trying to edit it in Notepad...didnt work. then in Wordpad it worked, but again, only as .m3u playlists...

for some reason in .fpl, it didnt work.

Thanks quad and Whatsinaname.
