Guys I need an all purpose good chilli sauce (applicable anywhere) and another for meat grilling. Any recommendations?
I can't find any locally. I've been looking for the last two months. I bought Nilon's and my gad... it's so diluted wtf.

Most of the red chilli sauce brands I used (including Chings) are insanely tangy. The only one that I feel worth buying is from Weikfield: https://www.bigbasket.com/pd/40053870/weikfield-red-chilli-sauce-200-g/

It has a dense texture and does not cost that much. I'd also suggest trying out Chings Schezwan Chutney, which is the only worthy Chings product that I can approve of. Has enough heat and can even be eaten with naan/roti/rice.
 
Even the supposedly spicy pickles - mixed, mango, green chillies etc are all too tangy and salty. Indian food companies use too much salt and vinegar.

Worst part, all the soy sauce here is fake. Some of them are just vinegar water with colour. Only the Kikoman soy on Amazon looks like real soy sauce.
 
Maybe offtopic, but where can we find good authentic fermented red chilli powder/paste (like Korean gochujang etc) in India? my searches didn't turn up much credible options.

I'm thinking of trying them as I recently found out the fermented ones are healthier than our usual chilli stuff.

If you like the taste great. Their prices are more affordable but this brand 'American Garden' are nothing more than a knockoff

I tried their Worcestershire sauce and threw it out. Then got the real thing as in import.

Yes. Most Indians still believe that. But they don't know what it really is, where it is used and what it tastes like. They will happily eat chinese but shite on MSG at the same time.

I am one of those Indians who vehemently believes that stuff like MSG, Aspartame etc are inherently bad. I've seen people with neurological disorders up close. I can never coax myself to consume excitotoxins no matter what all those sciencey websites say otherwise.
 
It took me a long time but I've finally finished making the pickles guys. I'll be putting them up on sale here soon maybe next week as I'm occupied with some village work right now.
For transparency's sake it will be like a funding sale for my personal needs (reason in spoilers).

A little background, my family is amongst the many affected in the crisis in the state and we've abandoned everything at home. I want to specifically mention my loving PC which I bought with my hard-earned money and assembled from the forum market here. It's something which I greatly treasured so I'll never be able to forget that one. My hard disks had important family photos and videos accumulated over the years (reminds me to regularly backup important files on the cloud). I lost 3 PC's including my gaming PC, one church work laptop and one laptop which belonged to a friend. Anyway I feel no shame in admitting that life's extremely hard hence this small venture to somewhat sustain myself. So it's fair yeah?

Anyway, for the last 2 years I've regularly shared "content" from my everyday personal life in the village (my life before and post the violence in our state) on my WhatsApp and a few kind friends asked me if I needed any money but as a child I was taught not to accept "free money" from anyone so it gave me an idea, why not make something and sell it? I realized that food is loved globally and what better than pickles! They have good shelf life too. This is the start of this funding project.

I made three varieties, all using "King Chillies" which is the most famous chillies in North-East India. The chillies were sourced locally and everything is raw and fresh i.e. no artificial flavouring chemicals, no added artificial colors and not even MSG. Except for the main ingredients themselves nothing else is added. 100% assurance. I also used a pretty expensive organic certified pure mustard oil donated by some kind samaritans.

Anyway the varieties are:
1. Raw King Chillies pickle with vinegar, lemon juice, garlic and zeera. (I love the aroma of Zeera).
2. Raw King Chillies pickle similar to the one above but without zeera. I asked around and to my surprise many people don't like zeera.
3. Fried King Chillies with fried garlic, lemon juice. Oily and very hot. Honest. This may be my favourite one due to the oily nature. You can add the oil to grilled meat.

The quantity is limited. I made only about 1.5kg worth of pickles. I haven't decided the price yet but they will be more expensive than the ones you get in your local departmental stores mainly due to the high cost of the organic pure mustard oil and every other thing being pure and made with love. Thinking of setting ₹250-₹300 as the starting price with shipping at actuals but weight to be determined.
If this sale goes well I will do green chillies next. I also want to do fruits variants but I'm not too sure about this one to be honest.

Btw I'm putting a hold on the honey due to L&O situation and transportation problems. Some villagers who reserved some honey for me haven't been able to transport them till now.
 
Out of the Chinese sauce brands in the country, I feel nothing beats Pou Chong products. Chings and the like are all garbage in comparison.

Makes sense, since they are part of (and related to) the original Chinese migrants who settled in India.

Everything is just marketing. The first time I came across Chings I thought it was an imported brand but no! Its made locally.
I've never tried Pou Chong.
There's that Masterchow that I wanted to buy but either I miss the sale (normal price is really high for cheap dry chillies imo) or they don't ship to my location. I want to try the crunchy one.
Btw has anyone tried "sweet mayo"? Is there any variant like this being sold anywhere? Or is it just sweetened by sugar? Back when I was in Delhi the momo sellers had the sweet variant of Mayo and I loved it. I used to have both the Mayo and chilli sauce together. Great combo but not liked by the stomach.
